Release Manager

We are looking for a skilled Release Management Lead to join our team, responsible for automating deployments, overseeing releases, and tracking technical products within our CEx Product Lines. Working closely with other departments and Product Managers, this role will help shape the release management strategy and environment management in line with company policies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in implementing and overseeing release processes, collaborating with diverse teams, and ensuring smooth software deployments. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented setting are essential for this position.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Â
- Establish and uphold release management processes in line with best practices, SDLC, and continuous enhancement.
- Work closely with various teams to coordinate software releases and implement automation tools for improved efficiency on Cloud environments.
- Implementing DevSecOps Standards and Knowledge of continuous integration and development (CI/CD) tools.
- Experience in IT environment management and infrastructure management on Cloud, especially AWS
- Drive and lead the improvement of the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
- Maintain version control of software releases and ensure that all necessary documentation, release notes, and artifacts are properly managed.
- Identify potential risks and issues related to software releases. Implement strategies to minimize risks and ensure smooth releases.
- Facilitate effective communication with all stakeholders, providing timely release updates, managing expectations, and resolving conflicts or issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in the release management lifecycle to enhance efficiency, quality, and agility.
- Conduct release readiness reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards, release criteria, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate the success and effectiveness of software releases, collecting feedback, metrics, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends, offer guidance to team members, and encourage a culture of ongoing learning and development.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of relevant work experience, with demonstrated expertise in the Release Management domain including strong technical understanding of relevant tools and processes in a pharmaceutical industry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
- Deep experience with E2E Software Delivery processes, Code Versioning and Release Management technologies, CI/CD automations
- Strong knowledge of release management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with version control systems and release management tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, JIRA).
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams globally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
