The Senior Tax Consultant will play a key role within a public accounting firm in Singapore, responsible for providing professional tax and financial advisory services to corporate and individual clients. This role requires the candidate to have a solid foundation in finance and taxation, hold ACCA certification, and lead a team to provide solutions that comply with industry and regulatory standards. The consultant will also lead the team in maintaining client relationships and ensuring that clients receive excellent support in tax compliance, financial planning, audit, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Advisory and Management:Provide comprehensive tax and financial advisory services to clients, addressing complex tax issues.
   Assist clients in tax planning and financial optimization, ensuring compliance with Singapore and international tax regulations.

   Conduct training for the team on tax policies and regulatory updates, enhancing the team's professional capabilities.
   Oversee and review the quality of the team’s work, ensuring that the advisory and services provided to clients meet high standards.
   
4. Cross-Department Collaboration:Collaborate with other departments within the firm (such as audit, legal advisory, and risk management) to deliver integrated tax and financial services to clients.
   Assist the company in expanding tax advisory services and provide customized solutions for potential clients.
   
5. Business Development and Client Relationship Management:Participate in and drive the expansion of the firm’s tax advisory services, establishing long-term relationships with potential clients.
   Maintain good communication with existing clients, offering periodic tax advisory services and ensuring high client satisfaction.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in tax, accounting, or a related field, with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) certification.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in taxation and accounting, particularly in public accounting firms or tax advisory firms.
• Extensive experience in team management, with the ability to lead and develop a tax and accounting team.
• Deep understanding of Singapore and Southeast Asian tax regulations and financial policies, with knowledge of international taxation being a plus.

This position aims to provide Management Support to Japanese companies operating in the Southeast Asia Region in the Strategy & Business Design unit. Managers typically have day-to-day responsibility for delivering engagements or major modules of large projects. Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure that expenses go through the proper channels and approvals, and documentations are in order.
• Attend to enquiry from suppliers/internal staff on invoices/ expenses.
• Data entry of invoices/payment for Branch (and Head Office from time to time), processing of internal claims and perform daily accounting functions such as bank reconciliation and journal entries.
• Perform prepayment and accrual schedules, inter-company settlement, as well as other reports for month-end closing purposes.
• Prepare monthly budget holder reports.
• Liaise with the bank on corporate credit card matters
• Preparation of quarterly GST and regulatory return
• Assist Head Office with regular tasks (e.g. Daily P&L, Bank Reconciliations, Management Account)
• Liaise with auditors
• Any ad-hoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Person Specification

Education and Experience

• Degree or equivalent in Accountancy.
• Part/ Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ CPA/ ISCA).
• At least 2 years of working experience preferably in similar role.
• Experience with Statutory and Regulatory reporting and Xero application will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (can maintain and perform functions/ pivot spreadsheets).

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants.  The VCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services, data analytics and solutions to our clients that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.

We are currently looking for a Manager to undertake the delivery and execution of consulting engagements for Visa clients across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability in clients’ payment card business.

As a Manager you will be leading the delivery and execution of Visa Consulting and Analytics engagements for clients in SMT. In this role, you are expected to:

• Cultivate relationship with Visa’s clients and partners - Issuers, Acquirers, Merchants & Fintech firms, by being strategically focused, optimize client performance and implement recommendations in areas of customer life cycle management, and new product development and launches.
• Drive client conversations with the client working team, execute and embed our solutions within the client’s environment.  Building content and engagement delivery involves strong project management skills.
• Work cross-functionally with other Visa teams to bring a holistic solution to our clients leveraging Visa’s rich value-added services (VAS) from functions such as Marketing, Products, Risk, and Merchant Solutions.
• Develop propositions by closely working with Account Executives in managing the scope of work and project timelines
• Work across advisory practices (Risk, Digital, Portfolio Optimization, Merchants) to execute engagements across the VCA verticals.

This role reports to the Head of VCA for Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Projects you will be a part of:

• As part of the team you will get opportunity to work on strategically important projects for clients.
• As an example, you might be working with an issuer client to assess opportunities across cardholder lifecycle, conduct gap assessment and determine strategy or provide best practice recommendation to the Bank.
• You will bring to life data analytics solutions and propensity models built by the Data Science team to ensure clients find value to take action such as running marketing campaigns to drive payment card activation and usage, changing policies or processes, launching new products, opening new channels, among other things.
• You will be the project manager of several engagements across SMT, working with the clients’ teams in providing guidance and supporting the teams in executing our solutions.
• You will be collaborating closely with VCA’s data scientists to jointly produce insights on analyses.

Expectations of an Assistant Finance Manager

• Perform monthly, quarterly, annual financial close with high accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure that all management reports submitted within deadline. Monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting to be carried out with insightful analysis and developing process to ensure quality reporting variances to be fully explained
• Assist in forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring that the numbers are reliable, stable and accurate.
• Strong partnership with the commercial finance team on the full spectrum of financial planning and analysis.
• Working with internal and external auditors, ensuring policies compliance in place.
• Manage internal reporting requirements on various basis.
• Involved in developing process improvements and system implementation/migration

• Manage and deliver analytics benchmarking reports from conception to completion with actionable insights and recommendations.
• High interaction with external clients and manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Define detailed scope and methodology, creating and executing on the framework with appropriate data mining techniques
• Work with the broader Visa data science team to create data driven solutions.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
