Job requirement

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years working experience in a Plant and/or Engineering Industry
• Japanese Language proficiency of JLPT N1 or equivalent is mandatory as this role requires the incumbent to communicate with Japanese internal counterparts and external suppliers on a daily basis
• Good business acumen with proven business development track records
• Knowledge of project management and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) works
• Technical presentation skill with value engineering methodology

As Business Development Director, you will be responsible for developing, defining and driving the growth market by winning new business from both new and existing customers. Working as part of the Regional Leadership team to develop and document the overall market growth plan including strategy, targeting approach, contact strategy and develop suitable value propositions to acquire new relationships and expand existing client relationships.

Purpose and Scope

ou will be part of the team in developing solutions for both new / existing customers and Sembcorp with a focus on sustainability. Specifically, you will need to work closely with internal and external collaborators to identify (i) potential novel technologies for generating low carbon energy and (ii) attractive low carbon business opportunities across the carbon capture, utilisation and storage value chain. The role will work closely with various stakeholders internally (Finance, Engineering, Technology etc) whilst also building relationships with external stakeholders (statutory boards, potential customers, partnerships etc).

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility assessments to evaluate commercial, financial, and environmental viability of opportunities.
• Develop the selected opportunities from inception to final investment decision and financial close by collaborating with internal teams and external advisors.
• Conduct financial analysis, including cost estimation, revenue forecasting and simple investment modelling for projects.
• Formulate terms of reference / scope for partnerships, collaboration with technology developers/ customers/ partners.
• Prepare and present management paper to seek approval for viable projects working closely with the various functions within the organisation.
• Work closely with potential stakeholders on possible collaboration for these projects.
• Provide regular updates to management on the progress of these initiatives.
• Training and guidance will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your role.

Qualifications & Experience

• Good Honours Degree in Engineering or Business from a recognised University.
• At least 2 to 5 years of experience in business/project development.
• Understanding of energy transition landscape including evolving policy/regulatory frameworks preferred but not required.
• Demonstratedbability in project management, financial planning and collaboration.

Job:

• Review, analyze and transform new business/user requirements into IT system/functional requirement.
• Lead SAP and EDI project implementation and handover to IT helpdesk.
• Serve as point of contact for internal/external business users.
• Manage 3rd party vendor for outsourced projects.
• Develop and review systems specifications, test plans, test results, technical documentation, and lead computer system validation (CSV) exercise according to corporate standards and guidelines.
• Ensure the solution delivered is properly tested and meet specifications and timeline from development to deployment. Support unit testing, SIT, UAT effort and resolve technical issues when required.
• Providing technical support, good services and timely response to clients and internal users, including preparation of user manual and conduct training.
• Improve the productivity of existing processes with IT systems.
• Internal and external audit handling.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent.
• Possess at least 3 years’ experience in SAP and EDI system implementation and support role.
• Preferably worked in 3PL, Supply Chain, Logistics or service environment before.
• At least 3 years’ experience in IT project implementation, direct interaction with clients/customers, business users etc.
• Well verse with SQL commands.
