Business Development Manager Responsibilities

• Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
• Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs

Business Development Manager Requirements and skills

• Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
• Proven sales track record
• Experience in customer support is a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
• Proficiency in English

• Communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to build rapport
• Time management and planning skills
• BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
• The ability to work under pressure.
• Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends).

Responsibilities:

1. Build effective scrum/agile sprint framework for development teams (backend, web frontend, mobile frontend, QA)
2. Lead standups and meetings, record minutes and allocate engineering tasks via Jira
3. Define project goals and schedules, and assign resources based on set priorities
4. Remove tech and business/operational blockers, or escalate where necessary
5. Ensure project deliverables are met within set deadline; increase overall efficiency of engineering team

Requirements:

1. At least 5 years of experience in tech/IT project management; overall company program management experience a plus
2. Experience in using Jira / Confluence, including ability to set up sprints, organize epics/stories/tasks, storypoint allocation, etc.
3. Strong organizational and communication skills, with excellent verbal and written ability in English and Chinese is required for effective communication with stakeholders, based in English and Chinese-speaking regions.
4. Ability to work with distributed or remote teams
5. PMP / Agile / Scrum certifications preferred
6. Strong sense of business and product priorities, with ability to relay to engineers, product, ops and other business stakeholders, and anticipate as well as remove blockers ahead of time

Established in 2007, the SMU School of Social Sciences (SOSS) provides high quality undergraduate and graduate education expanding SMU’s pedagogical strategy to the study of society, government, and individuals embedded within an increasingly complex world. With faculty expertise and research spanning the disciplines of psychology, political science, sociology, and philosophy, SOSS’s research covers key thematic areas such as international development, policy and politics, Southeast Asian studies, social movements, and sustainability. It currently has a PhD programme in Psychology, with plans to expand its taught postgraduate offerings into other disciplines as part of its growth plan. The School aspires to make a significant and lasting contribution across sectors through its integrative approach to the study of social issues.

Position

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS) invites applications for an Associate Professor (Tenured) position in Psychology to begin in July 2025. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses across several major areas of psychology, such as but not limited to Introduction to Psychology, Industrial-Organisational Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Research Methods.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated record of internationally excellent scholarly research and excellent teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in psychology. The position requires the candidate to be in this position for a significant number of years by the date of appointment.

The research support is excellent, and salary and benefits are highly competitive. The teaching load is relatively light and undergraduate classes are capped at no more than 45 students.

• Handle invoice matching task; receive, review, and verify all invoices and ensure its accuracy and supported with relevant documents before posting to accounting system.
• Ensure all documents are properly filed and scan to document management system.
• Perform monthly vendors’ reconciliation.
• Liaise with vendor to resolve all discrepancies in relation to billing.
• Prepare payment and submit to superior on time.
• Any ad-hoc assignments.

Requirements:

• With a relevant accounting qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in similar capacity.
