Job Scope
- Assist in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring the JSA programme.
- Work closely with PSOEB, school administrators, sports organisations and coaches on JSA related matters.
The Sports Executives are expected to manage the JSA in the following but not limited to:
- Managing the Implementation of the JSA
a) Work closely with PSOEB officers to customize the JSA programme to cater to the learning needs of the JSA students
b) Monitor the participation of the students and take appropriate action to follow up with the absentees and parents on a weekly basis
c) Monitor and assess students’ wellbeing and development
d) Ensure that the coaches and auxillary manpower adhere to the standard operating procedures of the JSA programme
e) Review and evaluate the coaches and auxillary manpower’s work ethics and performance
a) Maintain good communication with the parents of students
b) Maintain good communication with school administrators and sports organisations and provide regular feedback to them
- Assisting in the logistics, administration, financial matters and procurement of services in the JSA
Logistics
a) Plan, implement and control facilities and equipment for the JSAs to conduct its activities
b) Manage manpower, facilities and equipment that the JSAs and schools may face during the course of the year
c) Make arrangements for the transport, logistics and facilities/venues for the various JSA activities
Finance and procurement
a) Procure and stock-keep of equipment required for all JSA activities
b) Monitor the budget for the JSA equipment
Administration
a) Assist in organizing various JSA programmes, projects, events and activities; sports education modules, selection trial, parent engagement sessions, graduation etc.
b) Maintain records of students
c) Assist in the engagement/timesheets of coaches and temporary manpower for JSA
d) Set up SOPs and prepare the necessary documents to submit to relevant authorities for approval
e) Look into Risk Assessment Management of JSA, especially those that involves certain level of danger
- Other areas of responsibilities
In addition to the primary functions that the Sports Executive is expected to perform, they can also contribute to the following areas but not limited to:
a) Work with PSOEB (Talent Development Unit) Sports Officers on PSOEB events, programmes, projects and activities
b) Provide innovative ideas and solutions
The job scope of a Sports Executive as outlined above is intended to be a guide to help schools and PSOEB shape his or her work. Director and Senior Assistant Director Talent Development Sports have the flexibility to manage the specific job areas of the Sports Executive based on the JSAs and schools’ needs and priorities.
Requirements:
a) Remain registered with MOE (REMS2.0)
b) Standard First Aid certificate is:
(i) accredited by the National First Aid Council and
(ii) is valid throughout the contract period (except during the process of application for certificate).
c) Pocess good communication and social skills
d) Experience with students will be preferred
Duration of Service
Full Time employment, for the following periods of 4 years 5 months (53 months)
Firm Period
Period 1: 1 August 2024 – 31 December 2026
Optional Period
Period 2: 1 January 2027 – 31 December 2028
Working Arrangement:
Typical working hours are as follows:
a) On weekdays without JSA Training
Report to office at Evans Road from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. inclusive of 1hr lunch break (8.5hr)
b) On Saturdays with JSA Training
Report to office at Evans Road on 4 weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. inclusive of 1hr lunch break (8.5hr).
Able to work on Saturdays as the peak training sessions are held on this day. Report to respective JSA Centre from 8.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. (maximum of an 8hr slot within this timeframe, and timing will depend on the training schedules of the JSA)
c) Off days
i) Sundays, Public Holidays
ii) One Weekday (for the weeks with JSA Training)
