Job Description:

• Review tender instructions, terms and conditions and ensure that all risk areas are properly addressed as well as highlighting areas of requirement with potential cost / delivery impact.

• Work together with Finance and Purchasing to review letters of credit, surety bonds, and/or vendor qualification forms to ensure that proper information and corporate requirements are provided or implemented by business units.

• Coordinate requirements and applications for surety bonds and parent company guarantee when required.

• To administer, coordinate and review letters of support and other ad hoc agreements such as representative, distributorship and co-operative agreements.

• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with customers and suppliers including effectively managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, and risks; and develop and execute negotiation strategies with customers and suppliers as required to minimize potential losses and maximize profits for the company.

• Work together with Project Management Teams to review contractual matters of the projects, draft and review contract letters, variation orders, settlement agreements and execute meetings and negotiation alongside with Project Management Teams to manage contract variations, disputes, risks, etc.

• Work closely with relevant internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure agreements are being reviewed and ratified to company’s interests.

• Engage relevant internal stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standard and terms and conditions.

• Ensure that all inherent risks of the division company’s activities are covered by policies of insurance (except personnel/workmen based policies) and to administer and maintain these insurance policies.

• Other ad hoc assignments as may be assigned by the Senior Contracts Manager.

Requirements:

• Law degree in recognized university in Malaysia and/or Australia

• Adept in consumer law, contract law, construction law and commercial law

• Minimum 5 years in contract review / commercial contract review

• Litigation / arbitration experience is preferred

• As an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison among design consultants, client representatives, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders, ensuring the timely delivery of design and construction document
• Assist in the development of MEP system designs to ensure they meet project specifications and regulatory standards.

Client Liaison and Documentation:

• Collaborate with clients’ representatives on services such as diversions, removals, technical resolutions, and handling necessary certificates, documents, and as-built drawings.
• Facilitate the successful submission of these documents for Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) and the final project handover.

Technical Support for Procurement:

• Provide the procurement and operations teams with technical insights to support the award of subcontracts and procurement packages.
• Ensure all materials and systems selected for the project meet both technical and quality specifications.

Site Coordination and Supervision:

• Oversee on-site activities and the work progress of MEP subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Verify that all materials, samples, method statements, and technical submissions are reviewed and approved according to project requirements.
• Ensure MEP installations are executed according to drawings and specifications, maintaining compliance with local building codes.

Technical Clarifications and Method Statements:

• Resolve on-site technical issues promptly by coordinating with project stakeholders and ensuring subcontractors have clear, actionable instructions.
• Prepare and review method statements for various MEP installations and testing procedures.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Perform quality checks on MEP installations to ensure they meet design and safety standards.
• Ensure all systems are commissioned and fully operational before project handover.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of work progress, inspections, and any technical changes.
• Submit daily and weekly reports to the Project Manager, documenting site activities, potential delays, and areas of concern.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up to date with the latest developments in MEP systems and construction practices.
• Propose improvements or optimizations to enhance the efficiency of MEP systems in ongoing or future projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Post Graduate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience working in an MEP-related role within the construction industry.
• Industrial project site experience is advantageous, particularly in the installation and commissioning of HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Process Systems, or Cleanroom facilities.
• Experience working with PMC (Project Management Consultancy) teams is preferred
• Frequently travel will be required
• Effectively bilingual in English & Chinese to communicate with chinese associates
• Strong coordination and collaboration with other disciplines.
