About the role
This role is in the Finance Operations Shared Services and handles the financial accounts mainly for Shipping business. Main portfolio will be in-charge of pool accounting including monthly pool allocation and distribution.
The right candidate should has a good understanding of IMOS operation data, financial numbers and flows. Responsibilities include advising and addressing IMOS business rules issues, liaising effectively with respective depts eg. BU, Operation & IT Dept, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver the tasks.
Key responsibilities include preparation of timely and accurate financial reports in compliance with Group Accounting Policies and Financial Reporting Standards monthly, also ensuring compliance with audit and tax regulations in various jurisdiction like Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. The right candidate is to ensure consistency and continuous improvement in work processes.
Responsibilities
1) Financial accounting compliance
• Prepare and maintain complete set of financial statements and accounting records.
2) Cash management
• Responsible for monitoring the following:
- Cashflow for the UAE office for payroll and running cost.
- MYR balance for administrative cost.
- Maturity of FDs.
- Loan monthly retention and quarterly repayment.
- Settlement of inter-co balances
• Timing update of bank reconciliation and posting of Zero Balancing Account.
3) Accounts reconciliation
• Update Balance Sheet working schedules.
• Perform daily DA Desk Prefunding reconciliation.
• Highlight and follow up with operators for IMOS issues e.g. Missing biz rules or wrong IMOS code is selected.
• Yearly ship management funding reconciliation
4) Tax and audit compliance
• Prepare audit and tax schedules.
• Liaise with auditors and tax agents on audit and tax issues.
• Prepare quarterly filing of GST.
Background and Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
• Good working knowledge of tax compliance.
• Relevant Shipping experience required.
• Working knowledge of Oracle ERP preferred.
• Working knowledge of VESON IMOS Platform preferred.
• Good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
• 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills (English) and good interpersonal skills.
• Good team spirit.
• Able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment and deliver tasks.
