SingHealth Experimental Medicine Centre runs several core facilities for translational research in SingHealth. Reporting to the Veterinary Manager, you will be responsible in supporting the implementation of policies and initiatives for animal husbandry and care.

You will be involved in the maintenance of animal inventory, equipment and facilities to ensure full compliance with the National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR) guidelines, Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) requirements and American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) international standards. • Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
• Follows all required safety procedures.

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• · Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• · Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
• · Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
• · Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
• · Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
• · Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
