SingHealth‐Duke‐NUS Family Medicine Academic Clinical Programme in Singapore is looking for a full‐time Research Fellow with the relevant experience to support the EmPaTHy Programme in conducting research in the field of people‐centred care and digital health.
The EmPaTHy Programme aims to leverage on technology to transform delivery of patient care in primary care by focusing on preventive care, data‐driven precision medicine, and people‐centred care. The Programme will conduct research and training related to people‐centred care and digital health, and translate the research findings into clinical practice. The research team’s expertise include: shared decision making, clinical decision support system, mobile health, technology enhanced teaching and learning, implementation science, mixed methods, and research and clinical ethics. The research projects will test a wide range of technologies with patients and healthcare providers in the primary care setting, including: mobile health, telehealth, clinical decision support system, electronic medical records, and artificial intelligence and big data.
The Research Fellow will work closely with the EmPaTHy Programme Lead to ensure successful implementation of the plans and activities conducted under the EmPaTHy Programme. The Research Fellow will be actively involved in the following areas:
- Develop, evaluate and implement complex healthcare interventions in primary care
- Co‐design technology‐based healthcare solutions to enhance patient’s experience and health outcomes in preventive care and chronic diseases
- Conduct systematic reviews and meta‐analysis/meta‐synthesis to identify gaps and potential solutions to inform development and evaluation of health interventions
- Design and conduct research evaluations using mixed methods and patient reported outcome measures
- Translate research evidence into clinical practice using implementation science frameworks
Job Description:
The chosen candidate will be an integral member of several research projects with
responsibilities including (not limited to) the following:
- Work with research teams to conceptualise novel research ideas and develop research proposals leading to internal, national and international grant applications.
- Lead and/or manage translational research projects in a transdisciplinary, interprofessional learning ecosystem
- Design and conduct research training to build capacity (seminars, workshops, webinars, e‐learning) and mentor junior researchers, research assistants and clinical research coordinators
- Provide support for research protocol development and research administration including ethics approval and budgeting
- Conduct literature review, systematic review and meta‐analysis and perform data analysis (statistical analyses and qualitative data analyses)
- Disseminate research findings through writing research papers and reports, presenting research findings, publishing in peer‐reviewed journals and media
- Build academic networks and collaborations with researchers, clinicians and other stakeholders within and outside the institution, within and outside Singapore
- Undertake other related duties as may be reasonably required by the EmPaTHy Programme lead
Qualifications:
- PhD in primary care, public health, digital health, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines
- Have experience in primary care, public health, digital health, or complex intervention research
- Possess a track record of co‐authorship of peer‐reviewed publications
- Excellent in spoken and written English
- Proficient in research data management and analysis tools such as SPSS, Stata, and/or R, NVivo and/or Atlas.ti
- Strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good organisational, communication and presentation skills.
- A team player who is able to prioritize, multi‐task and work collaboratively in a diverse environment
- Ability to perform systematic reviews and/or meta‐analysis would be an added advantage
