As Language Manager, Japanese, you will be involved in ensuring that we deliver a great user experience to our Japanese-speaking audience through high quality translations. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviewing, editing and/or translating high visibility UI content and high priority long-form content of Meta family of apps and other core experiences
• Performing localization screenshot testing to identify linguistic and functional issues

• 3+ years of experience in English-to-Japanese translation, product UI localization, linguistic reviews and translation quality management is required for monitoring the Japanese translation quality for our family of apps and long-form content, and making appropriate decisions for necessary changes to improve it
• Japanese language is required to communicate efficiently with our translation vendor teams, cross-functional teams, and occasionally, with our end-users in Japanese

Reporting to Head of Compliance, the AVP/Manager Compliance (Merchant Banking) oversees the regulatory requirements of the Merchant Banking activities of SBI, Singapore. This position is accountable for the effective second-line oversight of the implementation, maintenance and administration of the compliance management.

• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the SBI, Singapore’s Compliance program to mitigate risks of non-compliance and ensure adherence within established compliance risk appetite
• Maintain current knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements that affect the business
• Oversee compliance monitoring activities for SBIS Merchant Banking activities, including oversight of the compliance process, and effectively challenge the business on regulatory compliance issues
• Develop solutions for addressing regulatory issues and recommend appropriate steps to address them
• Follow-up to verify appropriate and timely issue resolution of issues by the business line and report as appropriate
• Report on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls over regulatory risk using established metrics for SBI, Singapore
• Review and submit licensing applications for SBI, Singapore
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to MAS
• Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required
• Keep records of the KYC and counterparty approval documents
• Ensure AML & KYC guidelines are being adhered to
• Provide advisory on ML/TF queries from Business Units and departments of SBI, Singapore in relation to new customers’ onboarding and ongoing transactions
• Review suspicious and irregular transactions in customers’ accounts and conduct basic inquiry into such transactions with a view to filing a Suspicious Transaction Report to the Suspicious Transaction Reporting Office when appropriate
• Provide trainings in the areas of Regulatory and AML/CFT Compliance
• Undertake other ad-hoc duties/projects as assigned

Requirements:

• Graduate in Banking, Finance or other discipline
• Preference may be given to post graduate degree in legal or related field of study, with related compliance certifications a plus
• Candidates with ACAMS or Diploma in Compliance would be preferred
• 5+ years relevant work experience in Compliance in financial services industry, including Compliance management experience in Equity Broking, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and Securities Trading compliance or equivalent regulatory experience
• Demonstrated expertise in effectively communicating the roles and importance of regulatory compliance, as well as proactively identifying regulatory risk
• Effective leadership capabilities, including strong communication, change management, sound judgment, relationship management, and negotiation skills

Department of Geography: Manager / Assistant Senior Manager (Geographic Information Systems)

The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is inviting applications for a Manager / Assistant Senior Manager in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide support to the GIS Unit and its GIS educational programmes. The GIS Unit spearheads the research, training and applications of GIS in the Department and aims to extend beyond the academic realm to foster an Asia-focused GIS ecosystem with global reach. The Department is the leading centre in Singapore for GIS research and teaching, hosting comprehensive geospatial and other laboratory facilities. It currently runs three GIS educational programmes based upon a diverse range of courses; the MSc in Applied GIS and Graduate Certificate in Applied GIS at graduate level and the GIS Minor at undergraduate level. Plans are underway to complement the three existing programmes with a Graduate Diploma in Applied GIS (thereby creating a fully-stackable MSc degree in Applied GIS) and a Professional Certificate in Applied GIS.

The position is for two years in the first instance with the possibility of extension subject to performance.

The person appointed will be expected to cover the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Administrative & admission coordinator for the GIS programmes
• Review and process applications from prospective students.
• Coordinating students’ theses & projects-related activities/tasks for the MSc programme.
• Support new course development and new elective course identification.

2. GIS Outreach
• Develop and offer training programmes in collaboration with faculty members within the Department and across NUS to facilitate GIS outreach to working professionals and the public.

3. GIS Lab management
• Run the day-to-day operations of the GIS lab.
• Purchase and manage GIS & remote sensing software licenses used in the Department.

4. Technical and knowledge support in GIS

• Support the implementation of advanced analysis and presentation tools from GIS and remote sensing software.

5. Contribute to GIS teaching in the Department.
