You will act as a trusted partner by performing credit reviews, to provide an independent credit risk evaluation of SMBC credit assets in Asia Pacific region. Credit assets include (but not limited to) exposures to Corporates, Structured Real Estate finance, Project Finance, Securitization, Leveraged Buyout (‘LBO’), and Banks / Non-Banks Financial Institutions.
The role provides assurance for the Bank’s credit risk assessment and management quality, as well as appropriateness of risk ratings / Borrower Category as third line of defence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Off-site credit reviews on an ongoing basis, to assess the appropriateness of risk ratings and classification of Borrower Category for the Bank’s credit assets booked in Asia Pacific, ensuring adherence to internal grading policies.
• To participate as a team member (‘Person in charge’) for assigned On-site credit reviews and / or Thematic review assignments. • Continuously monitor and update CRVD and local branch management on regulatory changes or market conditions for new and emerging risks in the respective audit locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent is preferred.
