This is a full-time/contract, onsite position based in our Singapore office. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, you will deliver robust data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Data Architecture:Design and implement cloud-based data architectures that are scalable, secure, and performance-optimized, addressing both current and future business needs.
  
• Cloud Platform Expertise:Utilize leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to build and deploy data pipelines, storage solutions, and advanced analytics systems.
  
• Cloud Security and Networking:Implement and maintain robust cloud security measures, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), network security, and firewalls. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
  Manage and configure network security tools such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), firewalls, and VPNs across cloud platforms to secure data in transit and at rest.
  
• Data Integration and Quality:Lead the design and execution of ETL/ELT processes, ensuring seamless integration of data from diverse sources while maintaining data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and clients to align technical solutions with business requirements and objectives.
  
• Performance and Cost Optimization:Continuously monitor and enhance the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud data solutions, leveraging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Google Stackdriver to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  
• Data Governance:Develop and enforce robust data governance frameworks, including policies for data access, compliance, security, and disaster recovery.
  
• Technology and Trend Evaluation:Stay informed about emerging technologies and market trends, recommending and implementing innovative tools and methodologies to enhance data architecture.
  
• Comprehensive Documentation:Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, to support solution implementation and ensure alignment among stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills:Expertise in database design, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases, as well as data modeling techniques.
  Advanced knowledge of data pipeline and orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.
  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and system development.
  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation for streamlined deployment and scalability.
  Proven ability to design innovative and differentiated data strategies, aligning solutions with market trends and unique business needs.

  Knowledge and experience in setting up and managing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), firewalls, and VPNs across cloud environments to secure data.
  Familiarity with security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• Preferred Qualifications:Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
  Security certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  Certifications in Big Data technologies or data governance frameworks.
  
• Experience:Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years specializing in cloud-based solutions.
  Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  Proven track record of designing and implementing data architectures that support analytics and reporting at scale.
  
• Technical Expertise:Proficiency in database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
  Expertise in data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.
  Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
  Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

As a Regional Data and AI Engineerfor the Asia-Pacific region, your role will involve managing diverse data sources including sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, customer, and operational data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the region to establish streamlined data processes ensuring quality and consistency. • Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines from various sources into a centralised data warehouse.
• Identify opportunities to integrate data sources and minimise redundant data subscriptions.
• Develop and maintain a data catalogue to improve data accessibility for commercial teams.
• Create and manage master data related to products, customers, suppliers, inventory.
• Develop and implement data models to support sales forecasting, customer segmentation, pricing optimisation.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Regional Data and AI Engineerposition brings proven experience in designing efficient data pipelines from various sources into a centralised system. You have strong proficiency in SQL along with experience in programming languages such as Python or Rfor manipulating large datasets. Your understanding of cloud-based platforms like AWS or Azure will be crucial in this role. A background in supply chain management principles would be an added advantage. You are also expected to process datasets in Mandarin language and work closely with Chinese markets.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering with focus on integrating diverse data sources.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and knowledge of warehousing concepts.
• Experience with programming languages like Python or Rfor data manipulation.
• Understanding of cloud-based platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles is preferred.
• Experience with pharmaceutical industry regulations is a plus.
• Ability to process datasets in Mandarin language.
