Fabrica AI is reinventing how robots are developed. Currently novel robots take 5-20 years. We are building a design automation platform to bring it down to a month, and have already demonstrated significant progress by developing tile grouting robots in record time. Robotics simulation and reinforcement learning has been advancing a lot making it 1000x cheaper to train robots compared to 5 years ago, and as Jensen Huang said at Nvidia GTC 2024, "the ChatGPT moment for robotics may be just around the corner." A couple other companies are building on the same paradigm shift but we are the only ones using it to automate hardware design, not just software.

Building robots and a design automation platform together brings great synergy - the platform helps us develop robots faster than anyone else and the robots allow us to gather data and do experiments at scale. Data gathering can be done through partnerships with other robotics companies, but doing experiments is crucial for grounding the platform in reality and ensuring its usefulness. The grouting robots are already deploying daily at construction sites and bringing value to clients. We are currently negotiating sales worth around 500k USD. With manufacturing cost multiple times lower than companies using a traditional robotic arm, our robots have an ROI in weeks. Our robot is also small and simple to use, operating from a single button without the need to upload floorplans or do any complex setup. Soon we would be expanding into other simple and valuable robots for the construction industry.

DesCartes Program (work package 9) is looking for research assistant in UI/UX design and library development. The objective is to develop a user interface and implement libraries as required for the DesCartes Builder, a novel open-source framework for designing, validating, and integrating innovative hybrid AI models and methodologies.

• Performs site surveys, pre-installation, installation of Bruker Semiconductor Metrology Tools (AAFM(NanoMet), AFMi, TSOM & X-ray) for customers both domestic and international
• Provide high level technical support to external customers at their location
• Provide on-­site training to the customers
• Interface with cross functional work teams such as field applications, customer support/services, product management, manufacturing and marketing/sales
• Develop Service technical documentation
• Create, develop, and continuously improve the customer support & applications knowledge database
• Timely and professionally handle field service calls and issues arising from the field service
• Performs basic applications support of Bruker Semiconductor Metrology Tools for customers both domestic and international
• Visits, triage with field applications scientists as appropriate
• Timely complete and submit all required paperwork
• Flexible schedule to accommodate our customer’s needs
• Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
• Communicate with the customer to ensure satisfaction and implement any necessary corrective actions
• Up to 30% traveling required within Southeast Asia (at times with short notice)
• Misc. other duties commensurate with the capabilities of a Field Service Engineer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• 90% Technical support (Diagnostics/troubleshooting/on-site/phone/e-mail/web-ex/SAP RMAs, etc.)
• 10% Knowledge database development, delivery of training, basic application support and Escalation support (technical analysis, cross-functional engagement, plan of action, on-site support, etc…)

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualifications in electrical/ mechanical engineering or physical sciences. Masters or higher-level education is preferred. Metrology experience within Semiconductor Market an advantage.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel. Working knowledge and ability to test and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical analog and factory Automation
• Up to 5 years of relevant Semiconductor industry experience, preferably metrology products and with hands on instrument experiences.
• AAFM, AFM and X-ray service experience or background in Technical Support preferred.

Job Description

a) To report to the Manager or team leader as shown in the organization chart. He/she is responsible for the assigned or related project tasks and responsibilities.

b) The detailed duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Study and fully understand the ISO requirements, technical drawings, scope, contractual requirements and sub-contract agreements. Work with the consultants to resolve technical issues prior to construction.
• Submit to superior for feedback and concurrence on short or medium-term programmes and execute the works according to the detailed programme.
• Ensure that the works are carried out according to the approved drawings, quality procedures and EHS requirements. Managing the works with excellent housekeeping is a key focus.
• For quality management, the engineer is responsible to fully implement with the quality recordings, carry out result analysis and formulate action plans for continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain proper recordings to comply with EHS, quality, client and authorities’ requirements.
• Responsible for cost management so that the materials used for both temporary works and permanent works are not damaged or control the wastage within specified tolerance. Rework or abortive work which has serious time and cost impacts shall be avoided.
• Ad-hoc matters as assigned by the PM which is necessary for the execution of the project.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil & Structural Engineering
• Mininum 2 - 5 years' experience working in construction industry
• Preferably with HDB experience
