This program is geared towards developing individuals as future leaders in various aspects of GAR’s global downstream business. As a Management Executive attached to the CEO Office (Downstream), this 18 – 24 months program allows you to undergo job rotations which provide opportunities for you to understand and learn about the downstream integrated value chain. You will connect, collaborate and learn from colleagues at all levels, enabling your journey and career at GAR.

Program Details

• You can join the Commercial track.
• Each track will comprise of four/five 6-monthly rotations.

In each rotation, candidates will (but not limited to):

• Learn and develop relevant role specific knowledge & skills such as sales & marketing, operations, trading, control and risk
• Assist in the process to develop / review and execute policies and processes
• Participate in strategic planning, execute game plans and projects
• Undergo study trips to understand our overseas operations, where applicable

Requirements:

• At least a 2nd class (upper) honours degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Accounting or Finance.
• Only 2 – 3 years of maximum working experience is required for the role.

Perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organizing, and conducting research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (http://www.digitalmedicinelab.org/):

• Apply statistics and machine learning techniques to analyse various types of clinical data such as large-scale electronic health records, biosignal data, and/or medical images.

1. Corporate Business Support

• Organising, maintaining, and updating the profiles of the Company and all its subsidiaries, and business-related content on the Company website and to propose periodic improvements to ensure the content continues to support the objectives of the Company.

2. Business Research

• Assists to acquire research material of identified market segments, including existing and targeted customer segments, to support functions of the Company.

3. Productivity Validation

• Conduct validations of productivity projects implemented by the Business Units and prepare the validation report to Management.

4. Balanced Scorecard (BSC)

• Initiate the quarterly BSC exercise and prepare the Group BSC reports.
• Proactively gather BSC targets, data sets and relevant information from the Business Units.

5. Fulfils other tasks as assigned by the Senior Corporate Planning & ERM Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist to the Technical Manager, Marine Manager and Superintendents in monitoring the vessel maintenance and operational service and repairs requirements. Communicate where required with the vessel.
• Work closely with the Technical Managers and Superintendents for sending out repairs and service requirements of the vessels to the vendors.
• Maintain and update New Building Warranty and Repair Claims Status.
• Maintain and update the electronic document Procurement System’s Purchase Order for repairs and services and workflow process on the invoicing.
• Monthly download the class status from the website, review and aid the Technical Superintend. To monitor and plan for the assigned vessel’s class survey status including CMS, COC that are due.
• Arrangement of Class Surveyor attendance.
• Assist the Technical Superintendent to monitor the assigned ship’s maintenance system (ADMAX) for any outstanding due jobs.
• To monitor closely on vessel LSA FFA annual maintenance, gyro compass annual servicing, life rafts and Lifeboat annual inspections.
• Assist The technical Superintendent to monitor vessel lubricating oil 3 monthly submissions to the assigned lubricating oil vendor’s laboratory for test and analysed results are notified to the Technical Superintendent for any advisory actions (if any) to the vessels.
• Monitors vessel monthly submission of Cooling Water and Boiler logs for review by the assigned chemical company.
• Monitors and maintain the vessel portable gas detectors for annual calibrations and service.
• Monitors the vessels portable UTI tapes for annual calibrations and service.
• Assist the Superintendent In coordination with Vessel Senior Office to with clear and precise detail work repair or service specification for quotations to the repair vendors.
• Monitor vessel offloaded items for repairs, recondition. Timely ensure same are delivered or plan for delivery.
• In close coordination with the Purchasers for any gas bottles offloaded for exchange in the off-landing note by the vessels.
• Arrange repair vendors attendance including informing the agents to coordinate for transports and accommodation where necessary.
• Inform the master on the planned technical service arrangements prior port of call.
• In close coordination with the purchasers for timely delivery of spare parts required for repairs as well as cost effectiveness on sea or land transportation cost.
• Vets, on Owner's behalf, charterer’s submission of disbursement and assignment of correct account codes.
• Liaise with Superintendents in preparation and submission of vessels insurance claims documentation.
• Arrange for stand in when not able to serve the vessel, due to travel, vacations, etc.

Requirements:

• Diploma or COC Class 3 with ship management technical department work experience
• 2 years’ sailing experience as junior deck or engineer is an advantage. Those without this criterion can be considered based on similar merits.

Manage Customer Onboarding/Offboarding:

• Process the end-to-end customer onboarding process, ensuring smooth facilitation.

Job Purpose

The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum.

Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry.

In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT.

• Design and teach labs & practice modules.
• Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
• Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.

At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Officer for the IFP in the Oncology Discovery team at EDDC. The successful candidate will undergo an eighteen-month on-the-job training programme that involves participation in and supporting inter-disciplinary and collaborative drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration to drug candidate selection.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and perform biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays for functional characterization of small molecules and biologics.
• Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
• Perform molecular cloning, stable cell-line generation and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing.
• Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative and compliance-related processes.

Requirements:

• Degree or postgraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Proficient in designing and conducting experiments within the areas of cancer biology.
• Experience in molecular biology and genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9.
