A Project Officer position is available in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Wei MA at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. We are seeking a highly motivated and hard-working individual to support the lab activities of a plant research laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to various administrative tasks within the lab, including but not limited to safety and risk assessment, equipment maintenance, procurement, and other related duties.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors in Biological Sciences or related fields
• Prior lab experience in plant molecular biology, Nicotiana benthamiana transient expression assay, plant physiology, plant genetics, microscopy.
• Competent in standard plant genetics, molecular biology, plant genetics, physiology, and Nicotiana benthamiana transient expression techniques.
• Enthusiastic in plant biology research and able to work in a team.

Job Description:
· Monitor shipment ETD & ETA date and ensure receipt of shipping documents from supplier

- Liaise with suppliers on amendment/discrepancies during draft documentation checking and verification before requesting for final documentation

- Issue import work order to forwarder and warehouse for import clearance and cargo receiving purposes

- Liaise with 3rd party warehouse provider to ensure on time clearance and unstuffing

- Liaise with Accounts executive for documentations that are going to bank

- Liaise with courier in for urgent case of OBL submission from bank to carrier

- Monitor and ensure the unstuffing report from 3rd party warehouse provider being received within working days after unstuffing

- Check and ensure the accuracy of unstuffing report. For discrepancies, damage and torn bags, to report to Manager for follow up with supplier

- To ensure that complete full set of shipping documents (signed COA & Work order, HC, Permit (if any) are available in SharePoint for each work order once work order is posted in Navision

- For CIF/CIP shipment, to monitor the damage quantity in unstuffing report and submit insurance claim if meet to claim criteria in insurance policy

- Submit claims to suppliers when necessary

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Day to day monitoring and coordination with 3PL warehouses in logistics (inbound & outbound) operation issues.
2. Trigger and coordinate with 3PL for adhoc operation e.g. transloading
3. Coordinate between 3PL and GLS transport team for movement operation for goods.
4. Trigger 3PL outbound order processing
5. To submit an investigation/incident report as and when damaged goods are discovered.
6. To work closely with logistics planner to ensure appropriate stock placement ratio at multiple site:
   • To monitor and update the stock level of various product categories are maintained according to target set.
   • In the event of stock outbound or stock rotation, to analyze and inform logistics planners the product type to be brought back to site in order to optimize the storage site and restore the correct product mix ratio.
   • To maintain and update the emergencies distribution plan.

1. Detailed forecasting of demand and capacity.
   • Base on the incoming stock arrival schedule and stock rotation strategy, to derive week-by-week resource forecasts on trucking, unstuffing, warehouse space, pallet requirement etc.
   • To produce week-by-week forecast on site utilization rate (to predict when a site will be fully utilized)
   • To predict capacity excess/shortfall and its excess/shortage quantum, if applicable

1. Analytics Tasks
   • In the event of capacity shortage, to work closely with logistics planners and to produce an overview report of outstanding containers (indicating containers that have higher priority). To provide recommendations and to work together with stakeholders for mitigation actions.
   • Analysis of inventory and consumption trends at replenishment warehouses. To recommend stock retrieval from stock warehouse back to replenishment warehouse or to direct incoming stock into replenishment warehouse directly (without transit from stock warehouse), with the aim to maximize stock availability at replenishment warehouse and to minimize physical stock movement.
   • To analyse and recommend stock optimization policies at replenishment warehouses, and to direct excess stock to be stored at off-site location, ensuring warehouse space is optimized in storing the most critically needed products.
   • Produce weekly management reports on overall inventory and stock arrival status

1. Budgeting and Billing
   • To work with FPG Trading on the budgeting of total logistics cost for new inbound goods
   • To submit total logistics cost on disposal based on waste minimisation directives
   • To verify all 3PLs billing and submit for approval

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistic/Supply Chain Management or other equivalent fields
• Diploma qualification with working experience
• 2 years of experience in a warehousing and/or Supply Chain Management environment and/or hands-on experience with 3PL billing module and any warehouse management systems is plus

Job Summary

The job holder is part of the Logistics Team within the Supply Chain Department and is responsible for all duties related to the logistics function of the company. The aim is to provide effective support and ensure that all logistics processes are performed in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures, and aligned with its business strategies and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Follow-up on import and export shipments with the shipping lines or forwarders for their estimated time of arrival/departure, accurate documentations in line with the requirements, and accurate declarations of import/export permits via Tradenet.
• Ensure that the procedures and requirement for import & export of hazardous substances, other regulated items are in line with the Control Authority requirements (license/permit).
• To assist sales in obtaining freight cost quotation from forwarder for import/ export consignment.
• Follow-up with shipping company and forwarder in the event of damaged shipment and arrangement with underwriter for joint survey. Put up claim when necessary to the party concerned.
• Checking and verification of invoices from shipping agents/ forwarders/courier.
• Liaise with 3PL for incoming and outgoing deliveries in monitoring performance level, meeting regulatory storage requirement, assist in stock count and any reconciliation in stock record if required, filing and documentation, and ensure compliance to any NEA regulations on transport of hazardous substances.
• Assist company license holder in maintenance & upkeep/ renewal of license by the company.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in related discipline.
• Singaporeans and permanent residents only.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in Logistics field preferably in a chemical environment.
• Knowledge of ISO and TradeNet is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
