JOB SUMMARY:

Continuously improve process technology knowledge and develop competitive budget and firm proposals that provide differentiation where possible for water and wastewater projects to enable growth for Gradiant in all targeted markets. Undertake detailed process engineering for awarded projects to support the project execution teams and deliver profitable projects. Provide process support to optimize and troubleshoot operating plants when required which will ensure lowest lifecycle costs and provide feedback for improvements in design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop cost effective and innovative water/wastewater treatment process design that meet client design basis and requirements.

· Develop PFD, GA, P&ID, interface drawings and any other materials relevant to proposals submission.

· Develop project costing through lifecycle of the project and submit to business development for pricing.

· Develop technical and commercial proposals by working with internal teams (BD, engineering, operations, HSEQ), as required.

· Prepare and deliver client proposals on time and with the highest work quality.

· Participate in vendor evaluation and risk assessment process.

· Participate and present in customer meetings and design reviews if required (Bid Clarifications, HAZID/HAZOP studies).

· Prepare detail process engineering deliverables (e.g.: design basis, process design calculations, PFD, P&IDs, HMB, equipment lists, control philosophy, datasheets, commissioning and performance testing plans/procedures, O&M manuals) and work with project and engineering team closely to assist them after the award of project.

· Review outputs by other Senior Process Engineers and less experienced Process Engineers.

· Mentor less experienced Process Engineers when required.

· Support commissioning / site project related activities where and when required.

· Provide process support for O&M contracts including optimisation and troubleshooting when required.

· Support bench testing and pilot trials when required.

· Maintain good communication with all stakeholders and provide visibility on direction and results.

· Continuous learn and improve knowledge on process technologies and designs.

· Perform at least one project per year that improves effectiveness and efficiency of generating proposals or undertaking detailed process engineering.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's Degree/Post Degree in Engineering: Chemical or Environmental is preferred.

· 8 years experience in water/wastewater treatment process engineering required.

· Practical experience with commissioning or O&M of water/wastewater treatment plants is desirable.

· Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation and automation is desirable.

· Proficient in the use of MS Office: Word and Excel, as well as the use of VBA.

· Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal/communication skills, writing and problem-solving capacities.

· Reliable, well-organized and detail oriented.

· Excellent teamwork.

• Carry out civil and structural design for water treatment plants, ensuring compliance with local rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Prepare drawings and organize design reviews for various structural elements.
• Review project specifications, manufacturer submittals, and local standards to ensure compliance.
• Produce load, pressure, stress calculations, and conduct structural analysis.
• Analyze structure designs and recommend modifications as necessary.
• Provide technical advice on construction materials and installation methods.
• Liaise with Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel on design submissions to relevant authorities and follow up for approval.
• Collaborate with consultants, architects, contractors, and suppliers to resolve project issues.
• Guide designers in preparing structural drawings and coordinate requirements with other disciplines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Main Responsibilities

• Provides support to complete work activities timely, efficiently and satisfactorily
• Collates and report the team shift or day activities to the team lead
• Provides simple troubleshooting and diagnostic of equipment failure to determine the root cause and perform immediate corrective actions. Use RTPS or RCFA tool for difficult or complex problem.
• Standby for any emergency repair after office hours / weekends and public holidays.
• Operates and maintains process equipment/utilities /Facilities within the production plant
• Performs and coordinates utilities shutdown, startup, swing over, and equipment servicing and inspection
• Performs jobs assigned by Manager pertaining to installation, modification, fabrication, testing, servicing and repairs of equipment with adherence to site change control procedures or minor projects.
• Performs testing, commissioning, qualification (IQ, OQ) activities
• Carries out Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) improvement initiatives (i.e. audits, training, etc) and submit recommendation
• Performs corrective and preventive maintenance for the Process /Utilities equipment/ systems to ensure efficient running of equipment.
• Executes CMMS Work Instruction from process plants (e.g. Isolation and Reconnection of electrical supply, install earthing bonds for new or replacement piping, replace faulty lighting and troubleshoot/repair any E/I faults)
• Performs basic troubleshooting of the AHU/ BMS system.
• Assists Manger/ Engineer during the vendor servicing and testing of PRDs/ process Equipment/ Systems
• Participate in SHE, Business Compliance, cGMP and all other compliance-related matters, where applicable

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Qualification

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in mechanical maintenance field in the Petrochemical or related industries
• Knowledge of cGMP and good documentation practice will be an advantage
