Position Overview:

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To oversee the Finance Department by ensuring the accounting records are kept in accordance to Town Councils statutory and legislation requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and lead the Finance Department with the Finance Manager;
• Liaison with auditors, bankers, tax agents, government agencies and etc;
• Establish sound internal financial control and responsible for all statutory reporting;
• Provide financial analysis of the Town Council’s performance and provide financial advisory to Management through monthly and quarterly reporting;

REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Manages the accounting and finance staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, budget preparation, investment management and fund raising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance & Admin Executive is responsible in handling all day-to-day financial matters of Special Olympics Singapore, ensuring that proper accounting, reporting and governance is observed under standard Financial Reporting Standards. He/she is also required to provide administrative support to the Secretariat and the Board members, where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts

1. Assist the Executive Director (ED) in preparing monthly income & expenditure reports

2. Reconcile monthly banking statements with invoices, payment vouchers, donations

3. Prepare staff monthly payroll, bonuses and claims for approval & processing.

4. Perform daily finance transactions and functions, (AP, AR, GL, Bank reconciliation etc.) in accounting software to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.

5. To maintain a filing system of accounting record with proper supporting documents, verifying and posting accounting transactions while maintaining confidentiality.

6. Perform bank transactions when instructed

7. Prepare tax deductible receipts and official receipts

8. Help to prepare grant applications and generate reports for submissions
