· Manage the day to day operations of Marine (Hull & Cargo) Claims Department.
· Plan and organize team’s tasks and work processes and deploy resources.
· Develop action plans toward company’s objective and business direction.
· Monitor Marine Claims case loads and plan adequate resources to meet Company service delivery standards.
· Review of Marine Claim processes and recommend improvement to increase efficiency and productivity.
· Monitoring and managing claims recoveries.
· Liaising with Accounts Dept
· Ensuring timely compliance of audit queries both internal as well as statutory.
· Co-ordinating with Reinsurance Dept for submission of various statistics for treaty renewal.
· Ensuring all MAS regulations followed strictly
· Submission of all statistics for actuarial calculations.
· Responsible for the effective and efficient management of all Marine Claims
· Impart marine claims technical knowledge to the Claims Handlers
· Supervise and influence Claims Handlers to achieve team goals
· Ensure team provides customer satisfaction
· Adjust loss reserves or provide reserve recommendations to ensure that reserve activities are consistent with corporate policies
· Confer with legal counsel on claims requiring litigation
· Investigate, evaluate and settle claims applying technical knowledge to effect fair and prompt disposal of cases and to contribute to a reduced loss ratio, within designated authority level
· Claims reserve management of all outstanding marine claims
· Training and grooming the team on Marine Cargo/Hull Claim procedures and assisting them to upskill
· Guidance to Hull/Cargo Underwriting department whenever required in order to improve the quality of underwriting
