Requirements:

· University Degree in Business, Law, Finance or related disciplines

· At least 5 years of strong compliance experience in local regulatory compliance and risk management, with demonstrable knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements

· Strong knowledge or prior experience in key regulatory requirements such as the Securities & Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, MAS Notices and Guidelines, and AML/CFT regulations

· Work independently, self-motivated, strong analytical skills and ability to exercise sound judgment and manage execution under pressure

Key Activities/Elements

• Responsible for focused review of cost structure management for profit driving.

JOB SUMMARY

· The FI Associate Director – Business Management (“BPM”) will be a key member of the FI Team and will work very closely with the Head of Business Development, FI Segment BPMs and the FIMT. The BPM Staff will be involved in the day-to-day running of the Global FI Business and on specific initiatives for the Banks and Broker Dealers (“BBD”) segment, including its governance, as well as longer term strategic initiatives. Business and Strategy

Processes

· IT & technology liaison on key projects and cost mapping

· Monitor and drive key processes and controls ensuring FI adherence e.g. E-learning, cross border MIS

· Review monthly FI financial updates, cost reports, client complaints, etc

· Assist in review of processes for improving efficiency

Risk Management

· Understand and perform quality control on risk agenda items across the portfolio in collaboration with key risk partners (e.g., credit, operational, financial crime risk)

Governance

· Stay on top of developing regulations and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure bank compliance

· Ensuring that static data maintenance for the FI Portfolio is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and recommending the necessary remediation actions should the timely and accurate conditions not be met

· Oversight and support of any FI related regulatory projects

· Provide guidance on FI controls process when required

The Role

Reporting to the company accountant in Singapore, the successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of numerous financial activities including monthly management accounts, reporting and KPIs for our Asia-Pacific region which encompasses companies in both Singapore and Japan within a growing global business.

Responsibilities

• Execute all aspects of financial recording and reporting for our Japanese and Singapore business units including: posting of all AP and AR transactions, journal posting, updating of schedules such as fixed assets, etc.
• Manage accounting data and information in spreadsheets or software.
• Handle petty cash expenses including office expenses and travel allowances for employees.
• Process employee payments such as: expense claims, secondment (mobility) costs, payroll preparations, etc.
• Completion and submission of tax returns and other required filings to respective governments in Singapore and Japan.
• Assist the Singapore monthly management accounts
• Assist with yearly audits
• Prepare annual financial budgets for both Singapore and Japan
• Other ad hoc duties as required by management

Criteria

• Must have local professional accountancy accreditation such as: CPA, ACCA, Singapore CA, etc. Please state this in your CV.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in accounting field.
• Must have knowledge of GST
• Must have experience in year-end reporting and audits
• Must have experience in management accounts, budgeting and variances
• Good knowledge of MS suite especially Excel; experienced in accounting software
• Able to work independently and manage deadlines
• Demonstrate teamwork within local and global teams
• Organised and able to communicate clearly

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

• Compile and consolidate subsidiaries’ monthly performance reporting data, which include sales, costs, and expenses actual result and outlook . Account for variance between actual result and budget with in-deep analysis of rout cause.
• Analysis and monitor regional headquarter profit status, included preparing headquarter annual budget and monthly outlook, monitoring monthly profit status and explaining the gaps.
• Support HQ & Regional Business Units and Headquarter FP&A to prepare for annual budget and 2nd half re-plan, which include plan guide development, consolidation of subsidiaries’ plan data in a timely & effective manner, and ensures accuracy and timeliness are correctly managed.
• Develop monthly region performance data book and monthly submission schedules, and ensure all monthly schedule be submitted on time and historical data are correctly retained.
• Maintain system data integrity, include data-mining, data cleansing and data extraction, new EPR development discussion, by working with IM department and external consultancy.
• Leveraging BI tools (Cognos TM1) to provide visibility of business performance, and develop monthly performance reports using the BI tools.
• Lead ad hoc analysis based on management requests and operation needs.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

• 3 years experience, includes management accounting related experience in regional headquarter.
• Finance and performance management knowledge, understanding companies and regional finance operation.
• Degree in Finance / Accountancy , Business, Economics or other relevant field
• Excellent analytical skills to process voluminous data, interpret trends, establish high-quality insights and business implications.
• Willing to accept challenge and overtime work during peak period.
• Able to work well both independently and collaboratively in a team
  environment.
• Strong commercial sense, with keen eye for details and hands-on approach.
• Interest in understanding operational processes to improve quality of analysis. Willing to challenge current process to make improvement.
