Job Description
The Bed Management Unit (BMU) coordinates and provides efficient and clinically
appropriate ward placement of all patients entering or within the National University
Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities


• Responsible for providing bed allocation services and administrative duties in BMU.
• Perform bed allocation duties with SAP and other systems, complying to a set of rules and priorities as established by the hospital, and assignment of beds to patients shall be in accordance to patients' needs and choice where possible
• To be able to identify potential bed tight situation and activate bed tight measures
• Coordinate patient movement with wards and other departments based on bed status.
• Answer phone calls to handle bed enquiries and respond to or follow up on bed/transfer requests.
• To assist in the preparation of management reports and provide statistics as and when required
• Ad-Hoc writing of reports and statistics
• Offer emotional support and help patients cope with their illnesses.

What you will be working on:

This is an exciting opportunity to join NUS CTIC as a Research Assistant, details are as follows:

The candidate will serve as a project manager to assist with managing the communications and education outreach plan; conducting both quantitative and qualitative research, including survey, interviews, focus groups; supporting research admin and deliverables (e.g. reports/journal articles, education workshops and webinars.)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to work on a project about assessing the impact of digital information resilience, funded by the Ministry of Education AcRF Tier 3 grant. The contract is renewable up to 3 years

The successful candidate will assist the funded research project entitled “Digital Information Resilience: Restoring Trust and Nudging Behaviours in Digitalisation”. The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of scholars based in Singapore to advance research and knowledge on digital information resilience. The project aims to identify and measure digital information resilience for digital readiness, inclusion and safety based on an original indicator framework.

The successful candidate will assist to develop new indicators for measuring digital information resilience. They will conduct interviews, facilitate focus groups, develop and implement surveys, and code the data-sets using qualitative and quantitative research methods. They will also be required to support project management, research admin and deliverables such as reports/journal articles, workshops and webinars.

Qualifications

• At least a PhD or equivalent in the Social Sciences/Humanities, and demonstrated research experience in communications and media studies, including digital media policy and regulation.
• An interest and knowledge in digital wellbeing, information resilience, digital inequality/divide, and new media will be a bonus.
• Good project management, communications management, data administration skills
• Research experience in qualitative research (e.g. interview, focus groups) desirable

Job Description

The Experimental Marine Ecology Laboratory (EMEL) within the Department of Biological Sciences at the National University of Singapore is seeking to appoint two Research Assistants to work on a major new project “Shore Protection with Integrated Nature-based Solutions—Eco (SPINS-Eco)”. This interdisciplinary research aims to determine the optimal conditions for mangrove, seagrass, coral, and macroalgal establishment and growth within hybrid coastal protection systems in Singapore.

The main responsibilities of the position include:
• Assist in designing and executing protocols to quantify biophysical conditions of both modified and natural tropical coastal habitats
• Carry out intertidal and subtidal biodiversity surveys
• Conduct growth and stress experiments
• Coordinate with sister projects: “SPINS-Hydro” and “SPINS-Meta”
• Prepare research manuscripts, reports, and presentations
• Assist in administrative work to support the project

Qualifications

Applicants should have completed a bachelor’s degree in life sciences, marine biology, ecology, geography, environmental studies, or other similar discipline. We may also consider applicants with degrees in engineering, architecture, or landscape design. The candidates should have strong passion for marine-related research. Research skills including species identification, statistical analysis, writing abilities, as well as the capacity to work within a diverse group of ecologists and marine scientists, are desirable. Candidates with experience in hybrid shorelines, ecological engineering, and related nature-based solutions will be given priority.

Qualifications:
