We are looking for a General/Legal Counsel to act as the company’s legal representative and strategic advisor in our developments in the SEA and MENA region. Based out of the Singapore office and reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will also play a key role in advising a broad range of legal matters across the group’s international operations. Day to day scope of work will include but not limited to drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, advise on transactional disputes, employment as well as other general corporate commercial matters. The Counsel will also act as the company’s POC for all legal matters arising from the company’s commercial activities in these regions, including but not limited to: Incorporation, Leasing agreements, Employment law, tax, commercial contracts, IP and Data privacy.

Description
· Risk Management. Design and implement company policies and provide strategic advice to the Singapore senior Management
· Compliance. Establishing and Ensuring audit requirements, health and safety policies and employment law compliance.
· Contract management. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for external and internal use
· Lead global review of new products, product features, and other product-related matters to ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
· Coordinate with Beijing and International legal team to perform multi-jurisdictional assessments in line with Group interests
· Coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams (legal, data security, information security, product, business development, monetization, and regional teams).
· Provide support as needed to assist on other company initiatives (new technology implementation, internal policies, and data security efforts).
· Monitor privacy trends across markets to determine trends and issues for the company to address.
Requirements
· Qualified to practice law and in good standing in Singapore, US, UK, other common law jurisdiction, or EU member state.
· 8 or more years' of post qualifications experience, at least 3 years of experience in commercial law and international contracts
· Preferably to have some experience working in a similar capacity (Startup General Counsel) or major multinational corporation
· Experience, and more importantly personal interest, in technology, social network, internet, and all things digital is ideal.
· Detail oriented that can coordinate across multiple teams/countries.
· Strong sense of problem solving and proactive work ethic.
· Determination to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while keeping a sense of humor.
