Singapore Gymnastics (SG) is currently in search of a General Manager to take charge in partnership with the High-Performance Technical Director of the Strategic Plan and drive the implementation of innovative initiatives. About Singapore Gymnastics:
SG is the National Sports Association (NSA) for gymnastics in Singapore. We are supported by the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) together with Sport Singapore (SportSG) and have been affiliated to the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) since 2003. SG currently runs three high performance gymnastics training programs in Olympic disciplines, namely Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) and Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG).
Singapore Gymnastics aims to lead and support the continuous growth of SG’s affiliated clubs, schools, members, gymnasts, coaches, officials, and volunteers.

Primary Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the GM will take on a proactive role with the High-Performance Technical Director (TD) to develop the organisation's profile and prominence within the sports industry.
The GM will be responsible for the management of the organisation’s financials, human resources, and day to day running of Singapore Gymnastics operations. Together with the Technical Director, the GM will develop the organisation’s profile and prominence within the sports industry and develop strategies to diversify revenue streams and promote the sport to attract sponsors. All this should be done in alignment with the strategic plan of Singapore Gymnastics.
The GM needs to demonstrate the ability to do organisational planning at a strategic and operational level.
Responsibilities
Leadership
· Establish with the TD and BoD the vision and values of SG with a focus on creating value for the Members.
· Develop in consultation with the TD, and recommend to the BoD for adoption, a strategic plan consistent with the vision and values of SG.
· Identify business opportunities which are consistent with the vision, values and strategic plan of SG;
· Set the tone for SG so as to promote and foster an ethical and responsible culture that supports the attainment of SG’s strategic and operational objectives; and
· Provide the executive leadership necessary to guide and inspire the staff of SG to ensure the long-term success of SG.
Board of Directors
· Work with the Board of Directors (BoD) to establish sound governance and accountability systems and processes.
· Work in close collaboration with the chair of the board, the chair of each board committee and the secretary to:
o bring decisions to be made by the board and board committees and other matters of importance to the board's and board committees' attention in a timely manner; and
o set board and board committee agendas and provide timely and relevant information to the board and board committees so as to enable the board and board committees to effectively discharge their obligations.
· Provide support for all BoD activities.
· Prepare the Annual Report for presentation at the Annual General Meeting.
· Set up and monitor the effectiveness of communication channels to ensure that the BoD, Sub-committees, staff and members are kept informed of activities.
Finance
· Oversee the overall budget for Singapore Gymnastics in collaboration with the TD.
· Ensure that individual budgets for each programme are submitted and coordinated.
· Oversee marketing and sponsorship in collaboration with the Event & Marketing Manager.
· Monitor and approve all finances throughout the year, requesting detailed budgets before activities are carried out.
· Assist the with the yearly Operational Plan (MYSP) and funding request for the Annual Grant Exercise with the TD.
· Monitor and ensure that all event/competition/budgets are within total budget and approved funding.
National Office Staff
· To ensure smooth and efficient National office operations.
· To manage all staffing issue (eg, resolve conflict amongst colleagues, provide counselling to staff, motivate staff and encourage teamwork amongst National Office staff).
· Recommend, review, and develop sports management and administration programmes and support schemes as well as policies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of management practices and capabilities.
· Provide direction and oversee the work of all staff and ensure optimal staffing requirements.
· Motivate and manage a highly skilled and multi-disciplinary team.
· Plan, appraise and monitor staff development.
Governance & Compliance
· Ensure the development of management documents necessary for SG to achieve its strategy and objectives and recommend policies and other management documents to the board as appropriate for approval.
· Oversee the development of the implementation of, and compliance with, appropriate systems, including those to:
o ensure ethical behaviour of SG and its staff.
o ensure the integrity of SG's internal control, management information systems and financial reporting.
o ensure disclosure controls and procedures that are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations with.
o ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
o Ensure the principal business risks of SG are identified and managed.
Public Relations
- Oversee & manage SG’s brand and public communications.
- Develop and implement the communications and publicity plan that includes various media (external such as TV, radio and print; and internal such as website, publications, and brochures) for local and international events
- Oversee the preparation of all press release and ensure that the releases are sent out at appropriate times for all activities, in consultation with the SG President and TD.
- Ensure timely dissemination of news and updates to the gymnastic communities through various platforms such as SG newsletter, social media, emails etc.
- Manage and maintain media relations and be media spokesperson for the organization
Business Development /Sponsorship Development
· Develop and implement strategies to diversify revenue streams.
· Develop and implement strategies to attract more sponsors.
· Negotiate contracts with sponsors (work with Finance & Office Manager and outside legal resources to manage contractual risks)
International Affairs
- Build and maintain good relationship with FIG, AGU, and SEA Zone to develop the sport locally and regionally.
- Where appropriate and required, establish links with other world class people, programs and/or organisations with specific expertise in sports development (i.e. within and outside of gymnastics).
Sports Development
· Oversee the development of grass roots programs & events in collaboration with clubs to increase participation, capacity and revenue to SG.
· Actively engage Affiliated members to provide support for the development of gymnastics.
Sport Singapore (Sport SG)
· In partnership with the HPTD plan and execute the Annual Operational Plan/Multi Year Sports Plan (MYSP) in accordance with the requirements of SportSG, as and where it is required and ensuring that all performance targets are achieved as per the Multi Year Sports Plan in the respective pillars of Governance and Business.
· Ensure that all operations and procedures conform to the prevailing regulations, policies and guidelines issued by SportSG from time to time.
· Assist to submit timely reports to SportSG and BoD on progress made in the specified areas of responsibilities.
· Participate in all SportSG MYSP reviews and meetings; and SportSG organized activities for NSAs.

Qualification Requirements
. University Degree or Diploma, in fields of Business Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management or other sports-related· discipline. Diploma holders with more years of relevant experience may also be considered.
· 8-10 years’ experience with a successful track record in business management and development.
· Demonstrate knowledge in planning and possess good organisation skills.
· Financial knowledge and experience in managing a budget and a team.
· Experience in managing diverse needs of various stakeholders.
· People/Stakeholder Management experience
