RESPONSIBILITIES
5 days work week, Monday to Friday
working hours: 7 am to 4 pm
Able perform healthier cooking using modern kitchen equipment such as combi ovens.
Prepares, seasons and cooks a wide variety of food for all aspects of MINDSFOOD catering services and to ensure high standards of food quality, quantity and presentation at all times. This includes maintaining industry food service standards and operational procedures and targets.
- Daily preparation of tea break and lunch for clients and staff.
- Prepares all food and beverage products, complying with the menu and in a proper, correct, and hygienic way.
- Ensure high standard of cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout operation.
- Adhere to SFA guidelines and requirements.
- Requisite for purchases of all items one week in advance and assist in market purchases as when required.
- Report and request weekly inventories balance and new requisitions of dry and wet provisions during weekly planning meeting.
- Prepare all items for the next day menus and special events catering for the food production (thawing, cutting, marinating, blending, etc.) on time or earlier, if required. Ensure that all issued items are correct, sufficient, and counter-checked and portioned.
- Practices low food costs and to minimize food wastage.
- Ensure all dry and wet provisions for expiry and practice first-in first-out system.
- Arrange and ensure all meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits, etc. are stored systemically and hygienically in the refrigerator and freezer at all times.
- Arrange, manage all dry provisions and stored systemically and hygienically in the store-room and kitchen areas at all times.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Catering Coordinator.
Kitchen and Equipment Maintenance
- Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
- Cleaning of kitchen equipment's and tools daily.
- Ensure that all fridges and freezers are kept clean and in good working condition at all times.
- Ensure that all walls and floors are kept dry at all times.
- Cleaning and washing of kitchen walls and floors every day after cooking.
- Report all faulty equipment, gas & electrical appliances, etc. for repair immediately.

- Have a good personal hygiene.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must be able to converse in simple English.
- Have a compassionate and patient personality.
- Experience in working with persons with special needs is an added advantage.
