1. Perform processing of electricity supply applications

Senior Accountant (Compliance & Reporting)

Role Overview

As the Compliance Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive compliance strategies. Your role will involve ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, optimizing reporting frameworks, and fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.

Incumbents with Manufacturing or Wholesale Trade experience is ideal.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust compliance strategies aligned with industry regulations and internal policies.
• Ensure financial policies and procedures are adhered in the business process, books, and records of the company.
• Oversee and conduct audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
• Support, liaise and follow through both internal and external auditors, tax agents, all necessary statutory requirements & compliance.
• Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirement, audits etc.
• Design and enhance reporting systems, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Competency Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accountancy.
• 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance
• Good knowledge and understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (“SFRS”), Company Act, and Tax regulations, including the application of accounting concepts and treatment of transactions.
• Prior audit & tax experience especially with transfer pricing and cross border taxation will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the timely preparation of accounting deliverables required by stakeholders
• Review of supporting financial documents provided and accounting entries posted
• Review of the financial information accounts prepared by associate and to submit managers for review

Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

1. Manage the Pulau Ubin Micro-grid project;
2. Oversee and manage project management and grant administration efforts for R&D projects, including to:
   1. Monitor project progress, manage project virement and variation requests, ensure the timely submission of audit and progress reports by grantees, check and process claims submitted by grantees, and check and process invoices raised by Finance for disbursement of grant funding to grantees;
   2. Support the department in providing updates to relevant agencies on budget projections, project progress, and funding utilisation for R&D funds;
   3. Work with Finance to streamline grant administration and project management processes, including exploring the use of digital tools and data analytics to support these efforts;
   4. Improve EMA's grants governance processes; including ensuring that EMA's Grant Management Handbook adheres to NRF's guidelines, and updating the Handbook where necessary; and
3. Support the department's efforts to develop a grid capability roadmap, to identify the grid capabilities needed to support the Singapore Energy Transition and develop strategies to achieve them. This includes organising and supporting workshops and meetings where needed.
