Roles/Responsibilities

• Provide a range of Consultant Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to completion
• Preparation of pre-contract cost estimates, cost plans, budgetary study and project cash-flow
• Measurement (taking off quantities) for all structural and architectural elements
• Preparation of tender and contract documentation
• Tendering process and tender evaluation
• Post-contract administration and management such as valuation of progress payment, review of variation request order, variation assessment, financial review reports
• Finalization of project final accounts
• Attendance at project and site meeting

Requirements

• Recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from recognized universities
• Minimum of 2 years (for Junior QS) and 4 years (for QS) of QS relevant working experience with both private and public sector clients and preferably with knowledge of SIA and PSSCOC forms of contract.
• Work experience gained from consultancy firm will be an advantage
• Good technical knowledge for measurement, cost estimating and construction technology
• Understand and familiar with professional practice and contract administration processes
• Able to work as a team player and multi-task on few on-going projects/ assignments

1. Received adequate safety and health training (Min. with BCSS or CSCPM certificate) as to ensure that the work which the person oversees or supervises can be carried out safely.

2. Enforce on the compliance of legal requirements and the PEHSP by all sub-contractors under their control.

3. Perform daily EHS precautions checks as stipulated in the 2007 regulations.

4. Assist in investigating and reporting on accidents and dangerous occurrences and take prompt remedial action as recommended.

9. Attend all safety committee meetings and any other meetings required for the purpose of accident prevention; conduct daily toolbox meetings.

10. Set the example for all workers to follow at all times.

11. Serve strictly to the safety advises of the TC Safety Officers/Coordinators/Supervisors.

12. Check and ensure that all necessary machinery, tools and equipment are safe to use.

13. Ensure that all sub-contractors provide and maintain safe access in all places of work.

14. Acquaint workers on the hazards and safety requirements of the job and ensure that they observe all safety operating procedures as instructed.

15. To provide safety oversight over the subcontractors under their direct in charge.

16. To cease any unsafe act or environment and make it safe before any work activities commence again.

17. Ensure that the provisions of the Workplace Safety & Health Act and its subsidiary Legislations, LTA, SCDF and any regulations made hereunder are complied with.
