Job Description

Having witnessed the achievements of the large models in 2023, there has been a new surge of machine learning and AI models in recent days, which again puts up the public concerns about the explosively increasing energy consumption during the model training phase. According to Dr. Sajjad Moazeni, an AI researcher at University of Washington, the training of GPT-3 roughly consumes 10 gigawatt-hour of electricity ^([1]), approximately equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of 440,000 average Singapore households in 2021 ^([2]).

Significant efforts have been devoted to improving the efficiency of the model training phase, in terms of hardware, model architecture, networking, and algorithm design, etc. The PI (Dr. Zhang Junyu) of this project would like to tackle this problem from the algorithmic perspective, by developing theoretical understanding of the open questions on the training algorithms, in terms of the convergence, complexity, local landscape properties, and potential algorithmic improvement based on the new theoretical findings.

Maintenance and Support (70%)
• Provide on-going application support.
• Conduct user requirement analysis for enhancements to existing systems, analyse business information needs gathered, translate into requirement specifications, and secure user sign-offs.
• Perform systems and data analysis including analysing existing system/program logic difficulties, and revising the logic and procedures as necessary. Analyses and proposes data integration specifications for data exchanges with other IT systems inside and outside the organization
• Evaluate potential solutions and make recommendations to business users.
• Perform project implementation and application testing according to maintenance and quality assurance procedures and methodologies
• Handle audit queries, and ensure audit and security compliance are met.
• Conduct user training for system enhancements
• Liaise closely with business users and build good rapport
• Liaise closely with vendors or team members in application maintenance, application testing, supporting application patches and upgrades in accordance with methodologies and policies.

Project Management (30%)
• Accountable for the overall successful delivery of project.
• Oversees the delivery of projects to ensure that project targets are met. This includes, amongst others, conducting user requirement analysis, participating in solution design, planning and executing testing, deploying solution to ‘live’ etc.
• Creates and/or reviews project artefacts and deliverables to ensure quality and NUS guidelines and polices are met.
• Manages procurement, including amongst others, preparation and publishing tender specifications, evaluates and recommends potential solutions and/or vendors, contract management etc.
• Liaises closely with business users and builds good rapport
• Liaises closely with vendors to ensure successful delivery of products and/or services in accordance to contract.
• Manages project team to ensure optimization of manpower resources while maintaining a healthy team morale.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• At least 8 years within IT industry, inclusive of 5 years or longer in SAP S/4Hana Functional (FICO) role inclusive of systems design, functional, configuration and user support experience, and at least 3 years’ experience in project management inclusive of one complete cycle in an IT project implementation.
• In-depth knowledge with SAP S/4Hana modules FI/CO/PS/MM/Fixed Asset
• Knowledge in SAP S/4Hana modules FM/GM/Cash Management/Treasury/SD, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, SAP Concur and SAP Ariba will be an added advantage.
• Good technical knowledge in SAP ABAP, Workflow and Fiori.
• Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
• Strong technical background to coordinate with technical teams to solve complex requirement and integration issues.
• Familiar in the Finance and Procurement business domains.
• Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. The ability to understand the business questions that users are trying to get answered is essential.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors.

Fellowship in Vascular Surgery

The Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, National University Hospital is seeking candidates for our fellowship in Vascular Surgery under National University Heart Centre, Singapore. We are a 1,400 bed hospital with full range of vascular surgery services. There are 6 Consultant surgeons in the vascular division. We have an aortic center which offer full range of open, endovascular as well as hybrid surgery and both cardiac and vascular surgeons worked closely together. The vascular unit performs over 1,600 procedures in all aspect of vascular surgery. The fellowship will be at registrar/senior registrar level and you are expected to do on call at frequency of 1:4 Rota to 1:5.

We welcome international candidates who have previous vascular experience and looking for further opportunities to enhance their vascular and endovascular skills. As we are an academic unit of vascular surgery, fellows are expected to participate in research and teaching. Depending on candidates’ previous skills set, we offer basic, intermediate and advanced vascular fellowships. Responsibilities

· Work independently as a Consultant Pathologist in a general hospital served by the department

· Complement existing expertise in the department, which includes 6 contributing authors in the WHO Classification of liver, skin, gastrointestinal, gynecological, hematolymphoid and head and neck tumours

· Clinical duties include:

a. Reporting of histopathology and cytopathology cases, which may include the use of digital pathology

b. Performance of frozen section consultations

c. Attendance at clinico-pathology conferences

d. Perform administrative duties as directed by the Head, Department of Pathology

Requirements

· Established track record of clinical excellence in anatomical pathology;

· Broad experience and deep expertise in the practice of general histopathology;

· Possess basic and postgraduate medical qualification(s) recognized by the Singapore Medical Council such as FRCPath, FRCPA or US Board certification in Anatomical Pathology.
