[What the role is]
School of Sports, Health and Leisure, whose vision is to be the leading educator in the area of sports, health and leisure, invites applicants to join its motivated and passionate team. CET (Continuing Education Training) Associate Lecturers are part Singapore and Republic Polytechnic's CET masterplan to prepare Singapore workforce for the future.
[What you will be working on]
The Associate Lecturer will contribute and deliver a Continuing Education Training (CET) course in one or more of the following areas:
• Fencing Coach Level 1 (Full Integration) course;
• The CET Associate Lecturer will conduct and deliver theoretical and practical sessions in the areas of:
- fencing terminology, basic rules, and classification of Basic Fencing Strategic elements;
- introducing, developing, and improving basic fencing skills;
- planning and delivering a group session safely using the delivery process skills of: instruction and explanation, providing demonstrations, observation and analysis and providing feedback;
- SG Coach level 1 modules integrated into Fencing;
- Foundational Sports Science (FSS) modules integrated into Fencing.
• Able to perform other administrative tasks, such as invigilation and marking of assessment.
[What we are looking for]
Job Requirements
• Possess international fencing coaching qualifications recognised by International Fencing Federation (FIE) AND Fencing Singapore;
• Minimum 4 years of coaching experience;
• Training and Adult Education (TAE) Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) such as Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) or equivalent training and development in adult learning will be advantageous;
• Proficient with sports and exercise science knowledge;
• Proficient with IT and Microsoft Office software.
