Duties of In-House Legal Counsel:

• Offer strategic legal guidance to management and business units on diverse legal and compliance aspects, encompassing insurance law, corporate governance, employment law, intellectual property, data protection, and litigation.
• Fulfill the role of the company's Data Protection Officer, ensuring adherence to internal approvals, corporate governance standards, and compliance requisites.
• Enhance and formulate policies and procedures in alignment with business objectives.
• Assist in external and internal audit processes, guaranteeing conformity with legal and regulatory standards.
• Apply effective risk management techniques and provide proactive counsel on potential legal issues.
• Oversee the implementation of protocols for safeguarding patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property.

Requirements:

• Minimum Degree in Law, with at least 5 - 10 years relevant experience.
• Knowledgeable in Singapore Law to provide advisory to the management team

• The capacity to efficiently oversee tasks with little guidance.

Responsibilities:

• To review, interpret, vet and draft contracts, agreements and other legal documents and ensuring minimal legal exposure and liability to the company
• Provide corporate secretariat support to the Group business entities and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Group’s policies and best practices
• Participating in business dealings such as Merger & Acquisition, corporate restructuring, formation of business financing and ventures
• Work with external legal counsel to deal with legal claims and disputes
