Introduction

Task/Job description

We are looking for a committed team player responsible for the coordination and development of science communication activities of the FRS and FHT programmes. You will work closely with the FRS and FHT Management team, as well as with researchers from SEC, ETH Zurich, and local partner institutions in Singapore.

Your responsibilities will include the following tasks (list not exhaustive):

Developing Science Communication Strategies

· Create comprehensive communication strategies for FRS and FHT aligned with the programme’s goals and objectives.

Media Relations

The Opportunity

To date, the foundations of our APAC media business has been extremely reliant on the

resale/activation services however this arm of the business is slowing so we need to diversify.

We have recognised that our existing book and also prospects familiar with .Monks are

increasingly demanding for our support when it comes to managed media services. We have

had mixed success in pitching and delivering managed engagements however there is a clear

need to define specific roles to create a AOR service that is competitive in market. The AOR

roles will allow us to deliver end-to-end media AOR including media strategy, planning, buying,

optimisation and reporting. The opportunity is to build out something new, something fresh and turn what has been a solid managed offering into incredibly compelling AOR service and

consequently diversified and strong revenue stream for the APAC Media Business.

The Role

This role will be focused on building and delivering on the media strategy and planning

component of the AOR function. This will involve being heavily involved in the presales/pitching and delivery of media AOR engagements across APAC. In addition to this responsibility, there

will be an element educating others on strategy and planning, the goal here being that others

can support in delivery how/when required. This role will report into the APAC Media Strategy & Planning Director (when appointed). This is the first role in the ‘Media Solutions’ capability in the global media pillar structure and will be expected to have close contact with the Media Solutions VP based in NAMER.

Responsibilities Include:

● Development of paid media strategies designed to meet client set objectives. This

involves critical assessment of client briefing documents, demonstrating an

understanding of the client challenge, audience mining and analysis, then defining a

media approach to meet said objective/s including channel selection.

● Creation of media plans based on strategy and/or client brief. This includes channel

budget allocation, audience/inventory/creative/format selection and outlining of tangible

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement communication strategies for company to ensure unified, consistent and positive messages that will define and promote company identity and mission.

- Focus on internal communications and to work in consultation with the PR teams of company shareholders on external corporate communications.

- In consultation with the PR teams of company shareholders, plan and deliver effective corporate and media communication programmes, including press releases and other media/stakeholder issues

- Serve as press and reputation advisor to the leadership team on a range of external relations matters, including but not limited to participation in external conferences in the form of speaking, sponsorship and exhibitions

Requirements:

-Master, Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, Marketing, Public Relations or any related discipline

- Minimum 6 to 8 years of progressive and relevant work experience within MNC environment and across a breadth of corporate communications functions

- From commodities trading industry (upsteam, midstream, downstream), otherwise, those from PR agencies will be plus point

- Experience with press management and the management of media issues, including crisis communications

- Ability to work on a variety of digital platforms

- Basic/amateur design skills for the creation of visuals, infographics, message and collaterals suitable for a variety of target audiences

Position Purpose

The Head of Brand & Communications for SEA is directly responsible for developing the BNP Paribas brand and stepping up brand awareness to drive business momentum while at the same time, protecting the reputation of the brand. The role also includes the supervision of the SEA Brand & Communications team. This position is a member of the Singapore Executive Committee and the coordinator of the SEA Country CSR Committees.

The position is specifically responsible for corporate communications (content creation for internal, external and digital communications), branding & advertising, sponsorships & events for any bank-wide initiative, working in concert with the APAC Brand & Communications team. The position is also responsible for organizing and coordinating corporate philanthropy projects and coordination of the SEA Country CSR Committees.

Responsibilities

1. Protect and grow the BNP Paribas brand in SEA through all appropriate channels:

• Manage and protect the reputation of the brand through all external channels (including media/issues management in consultation with APAC Corporate Communications)
• Leverage appropriate content (media including social, sponsorship, advertising) to increase awareness with target market (institutional and corporate clients), in particular identifying media opportunities with territory senior leadership
• Create a balanced calendar of events that creates meaningful client development opportunities for the coverage and business teams and ensure these are executed flawlessly

2. Manage the SEA Brand & Communications team

• Manage the day to day work flow and activities of the SEA B&C team to ensure the team’s goals are achieved
• Develop team members to grow and realize their full potential

• Manage the budget based on the regional/group guideline

3. Drive employee engagement in SEA by working collaboratively with territory management and HR on:

4. Transversal B&C planning – working with territory management and regional B&C management, identify opportunities and themes for SEA, holistically, preventing ‘siloed’ activities:

• Ensure understanding of the business plans of all business and coverage teams
• Identify synergies across business and coverage teams and proactively look to leverage B&C related activities
• Identify core themes/ content that can be developed for thought leadership for stakeholders
• Provide content for social media, content hub, Echonet, APAC Flash and other channels based on SEA topics

5. CSR & Philanthropy:

• Steer all CSR efforts, deepening all four CSR pillars to drive impact and engagement with stakeholders
• Coordinate employee volunteering activities working with the Country CSR Committees
• Manage SEA philanthropy projects for the BNP Paribas Foundation and ensure synchronization with CSR activities
• Implement CSR governance for SEA – KYX, reporting, budgets

• Possess 15-20 years’ senior level brand & communications experience in a customer led, large-scale organisation whose affairs are in the public domain.
