Position Overview: As a Network Operations Center (NOC) Operator for a submarine cable system, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operational integrity of the submarine cable network. Your role is crucial in ensuring uninterrupted communication and data transmission across international regions through the submarine cable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• 24/7 Monitoring: Monitor the submarine cable network and associated systems 24/7 to detect and promptly respond to any anomalies, outages, or performance degradation.
• Incident Management: Quickly identify and assess network incidents, troubleshoot issues, and follow established procedures to resolve or escalate problems to higher levels of support as necessary.
• Fault Resolution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Cable Landing Station (CLS) engineers, fronthaul engineers, and external partners, to troubleshoot and resolve network faults, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements to enhance overall network efficiency and reliability.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of network events, incidents, and actions taken during your shifts. Contribute to creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Emergency Response: Act swiftly during emergency situations, such as cable faults or security breaches, to ensure the safety and stability of the submarine cable network.
• Proactive Monitoring: Implement proactive measures to prevent potential network issues, including routine checks, system updates, and configuration adjustments, with close supervision and vetting by the NOC Head/Manager.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party service providers and customers, to provide updates on network status and incident resolutions.
• Equipment Management: Maintain a thorough understanding of the network infrastructure, including undersea cables, landing stations, and associated equipment. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest developments in submarine cable technology, network monitoring tools, and industry best practices to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, security protocols, and especially confidentiality requirements related to the operation of the submarine cable system.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience with a telecommunication service provider or a major transmission equipment vendor
• Prior experience in an NOC environment and/or optical transmission is highly desirable
• Graduate or Diploma in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar qualifications are a plus
• Strong understanding of submarine cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications technologies. Good understanding and working knowledge of SDH, DWDM/submarine cable system operations, ethernet technologies and structured cabling are a plus
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools, protocols, and technologies used in NOC environments
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose, communicate, and resolve complex network issues efficiently
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially during high-stress situations
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and coordinate with external partners
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment and handle shifting priorities
• Meticulous in monitoring and documenting network events and actions

Job Responsibilities:-

• Perform verification of modules and subsystems including digital signal processing modules, networking components (eg. packet processing/protocol accelerator modules) as well as in high speed peripheral interfaces (integration of analogue IP modules such as SerDes PHYs) for complex IC/SOCs
• Own and create verification plans based on specifications
• Develop testbenches in SpecmanE/SV/UVM environments for RTL simulations and GLS
• Create and run directed and random testcases to achieve coverage targets and validate functional and performance requirements of design
• Support and provide verification expertise and documentation to meet engineering challenges, schedule and quality goals through executing in-house methodology and standard industry tools
• Collaborate closely with cross domain teams including silicon/system architects, designers, system validation and SW engineering teams to ensure successful pre/post silicon validation of these IPs or subsystems in ASIC/SOC products
• Create solutions to support continuous improvement and learning in digital IP verification methodologies and flows

Job Requirements:-

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electronics/Communications Engineering
• 8 years and above of experience in Digital IC verification at IP/subsystem level
• Strong fundamentals and proven expertise in digital IC verification methodology, programming and SOC
• Specialization in High-Speed Interfaces and industry protocols standards such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet IEEE 802.3 standards, AXI, AHB buses etc.
• Strong RTL verification skills using SpecmanE/C/SystemVerilog/UVM methodology
• Expertise in RTL simulations and GLS debug using industry standard tools
• Expertise to achieve comprehensive Functional and Code coverage using industry standard tools
• Knowledge and expertise in understanding standards, specification or requirements documents and define test environment, test plan to meet the requirements
• Experience in development of Verification IP, Bus functional models, Monitor, Protocol checkers and setting up of regression environment
• Knowledge and hands on experience of scripting languages (Python, Perl) and expertise in using them to automate verification tasks and regressions
• Knowledge and hands on experience with testing pre-silicon prototypes as well as post silicon testing in a lab environment is desirable
• Strong analytical, problem solving and debugging skills
