Your role
The Energy and Efficiency will be a trusted expert on energy, efficiency, and sustainability topics throughout the APAC region for Digital Realty. The position will collaborate with internal and external partners in Digital Realty’s APAC region to support regional energy efficiency and sustainability projects, manage the regional implementation of corporate sustainability programs, and will be a trusted resource on energy, efficiency, and sustainability-related topics for management, sales, and customers in the APAC region.
The position will report to the VP of Operations and will work closely with colleagues in global sustainability, operations, design and construction, portfolio management, sales and customer success, and corporate functions including legal, marketing, and communications. As needed, you will support management’s engagement with industry groups, regulators, and local authorities on energy and sustainability matters.
What you’ll do
· Identify and implement financially accretive investments in energy, water and waste efficiency projects throughout the regional portfolio.
· Work with vendors and operating partners to identify and evaluate portfolio opportunities.
· Analyze and evaluate proposals, including confirmation of project costs and savings, underwriting of vendor qualifications, and other relevant diligence.
· Support project implementation being led by Operations and related personnel.
· Track progress via relevant KPIs to ensure the successful implementation of program activities.
· Monitor the technologies and performance management best practices related to energy, water and other sustainability matters; Identify opportunities to implement in the regional portfolio.
· Disseminate corporate and industry best practices regarding energy, water and sustainability topics.
· Implement plans aligned with corporate programs to achieve long-term energy and sustainability goals.
· Monitor energy, emissions including EACs and carbon offsets, and water intensity for the regional portfolio and support data requests from corporate sustainability.
· Track green building and health & wellness building certifications.
· Support regional efforts to increase renewable energy coverage, in partnership with procurement, portfolio management, and operations teams.
· Direct the implementation of energy management programs in partnership with operations teams and external vendors.
· Proactively identify and prioritize opportunities for energy and efficiency improvement; develop plans to implement improvement actions with the support of relevant stakeholders.
· Promote awareness of energy efficiency and the use of alternative or renewable energy sources.
· Collaborate with corporate sustainability and regional leadership to develop short and long-range energy and sustainability goals and objectives for the region and establish program priorities, milestones, and deadlines.
· Provide regular updates to regional leadership on energy and efficiency KPIs and program performance.
· Provide consulting and coaching service to sites in region(s) on executing energy and conservation initiatives.
· Coordinate with regional leadership to identify and monitor new and potential regulations that relate to energy and efficiency.
· Participate in and serve as a Company ambassador at regional industry meetings, conferences, and with government agencies as needed.

What you’ll need
· Min bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or related field.
· Must possess a minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in energy, efficiency, and sustainability roles, relevant consulting experience, or related fields.
· Holds certification as a Certified Green Mark Manager (GMM) or Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM).
· Familiarity with operations of real estate asset classes is desired.
· Excellent quantitative, written and oral communication skills (English).
· Experience with corporate sustainability and/or ESG initiatives.
· Exhibits a high level of responsiveness, sense of urgency and the ability and desire to produce high-quality work product.
· Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and understanding of data centers and related energy and cooling systems for large-scale commercial or industrial buildings.
· Experience in energy audits and managing energy efficiency improvement programs.
· Possesses good knowledge and experience in ISO 50001 energy management system and BCA GM scheme.
· Familiarity with the principles of design, construction, engineering, and building regulations.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analytics software.
· Bias for action; strong initiative and results-oriented.
· Collaborative by nature. Must work well with others and build strong interpersonal relationships.
· Intellectually curious – a quick learner who combines previous professional and personal experiences to offer new ideas and solutions.
