Credit Risk

You will be part of a team that ensures that GIC deals with financially sound and reputable counterparties.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of GIC’s market, credit, and operational risk profiles.

What will you do as a Credit Risk Manager?

• Manage the credit approval process and recommend appropriate credit limits and risk mitigation measures for counterparties and service providers in accordance with GIC’s credit risk guidelines.
• Undertake proactive risk management and monitoring as well as perform periodic credit reviews of approved counterparties and service providers.

• Applying strong interpersonal skills, the individual will work closely with Trading, Banking, Risk, Operations and other corporate functions to resolve booking, valuation, and financial resource enquiries and issues.
• Understand and critically analyse new financing transactions and perform Finance Due Diligence, by understanding the financial resources required on the trade, assess profitability of the trade in context of return on such resources. Identifying and resolve potential implications on Legal entity, Accounting, Treasury and Tax matters. Present findings and recommendations to Senior Management for committee approval.
• Represent Finance at various regional Risk and Legal Entity committees, to update the state of business and portfolio to senior management.
• Actively engage in new business and product launches and participate in global finance projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum Degree from an accredited University or Professional Qualification for e.g. Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Product Control or Valuations with a focus on loans and credit products
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with illiquid and alternative investment products such as Structured Lending, Special Situations, Distressed credits, Private Equity, Mortgage products, Warehouse financing or hybrid products
• Experience in USGAAP accounting skills for Financing Transactions and, BASEL 3 rules and regulations
• Proven self-starter showing initiative to address issues as they arise and confidence in analysing and presenting complex financial data.
• Excellent communication skill for effective interaction with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated outstanding leadership skill managing and developing junior team members, and ability to effectively managing multiple stakeholders and display leadership qualities to make and impact to achieve desired result
• Strong control mind set, and not afraid to ask questions, challenge the status quo and suggest changes and re-invent the process. Desire to drive for improvement and efficiency.

We are looking for an Operations analyst to join our Singapore Asset Management business and work on a variety of fund and business operational tasks. The role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and make an impact across many areas of our asset management business.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the front office, clients, external and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate trade capture and upload for investment funds
• Trade life-cycle management including trade confirmations, settlements and cash and position reconciilation
• Perform daily NAV and P&L review & monitor fund expenses and accruals
• Liaise with data providers for monthly/ ad hoc updates (PPM, Factsheet & Data)
• Assist in due diligence questionnaire & regulatory reporting testing
• Assist in brokers onboarding and set up and other related matters
• Assist in KYC process for onboarding of customers and due diligence for onboarding of service providers
• Assist portfolio managers in portfolio cash and liquidity monitoring and management
• Assist portfolio managers in trade implementation as and when required
• Manage relationships with service providers such as prime brokers, custodians and fund administrators
• Work closely with compliance team to ensure fund and operational compliance
• Assist in changes to existing fund set ups and new fund launches
• Work closely with legal team on amendments to fund-related documentation
• Prepare periodic reports on fund valuation and performance returns
• Monitor & manage data on various platforms and website
• Be involved in the annual audit process and act as one of the main points of liaison with auditors
• Manage ad hoc projects whenever required

Requirement

• Degree in business, finance, economics or other relevant disciplines
• At least 2 years of fund operations experience, with significant experience in buy side firms
• Must be driven, responsible, proactive, meticulous and detail-oriented
• Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure. Must be organized and able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines
• Must be flexible as the role frequently requires dealing with ad-hoc queries from different stakeholders
• Able to manage multiple stakeholders including clients, service providers, regulators, auditors and senior management
• Resourceful and enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment

What the role is

The research function advances thinking in service, operations and enforcement management for the Singapore public sector. As a researcher, you will design, plan and conduct research. You will also communicate the research insights to support the learning and development of public sector service practitioners and leaders, and help them develop and implement strategies to deliver excellent service, operations and enforcement.

Job Responsibilities

• Proposing research topics, designs and plans in Service, Operations and Enforcement Management, especially to develop citizens’ insights.
• Conducting research on key emerging trends in Service, Operations and Enforcement Management, and drawing insights that are contextualised for the Singapore public sector.
• Uncovering citizens’ insights for Service, Operations and Enforcement Management using appropriate research methods, including but not limited to surveys, ethnographic interviews, intercept interviews, focus group discussions, contextual inquiries, observations, etc.
• Managing WOG quantitative research, which includes designing the study, procuring of research partners, managing vendors and stakeholders, and sharing of results with agencies, PSD, and ServiceSG.
• Translating research insights into learning products such as articles, videos, infographics, toolkits, scenarios, games, simulations, case studies and papers on the topic of Service, Operations and Enforcement Management to meet learning needs both within and beyond the classroom.
• Convening and facilitating communities (both online and face-to-face) to share best practices, and pertinent issues and challenges for the public sector Service, Operations and Enforcement Management communities.
• Designing and facilitating discussions on Service, Operations and Enforcement Management.
• Designing and implementing learning interventions for practitioners and leaders, such as:.Organising roundtables, seminars and lectures helmed by practice leaders and academics to raise awareness of current and emerging Service, Operations and Enforcement Management issues.
  Providing advisory and consultancy services to public sector agencies, and managing multi-disciplinary projects.
