• Prepare and submit monthly progress claim to Architect/Client.
• Compute variation order claim and prepare the final accounts for settlement with client/consultant.
• Prepare final accounts of sub-contract work;
• Prepare progress payment certificates for sub-contractors;
• Aware and understood the impact/risk assessment and applicable legal & other requirements in his/her scope of work;
• Performs measurements and compares quotation values for review;
• Accurately interpret drawings and specifications, and measures/calculates the quantities required by the project;
• Works closely with the Project Manager,Construction Manager,Client/Client Representatives and Sub- Contractors to accurately arrive with progress claims and variation claims;
• Incorporates all Project Manager-approved deductions pertaining to QEHS administrative charges from sub- contractor payment documents;
• Verifies payment documents before submission to Head Office;
• Responsible for preparation of Works Order, Contractual Agreement and Payment Certificates;
• Deals with contractual issues between main contractor and client, and those between main contractor and sub-contractors;
• Ensures progressive claims are promptly put up to the client through accurate measurement of actual works accomplished;
• Ensures claims of sub-contractors are carefully verified and endorsed against accomplished site works(including fulfilment of QEHS requirements) prior to submission to the Head Office Procurement Department for further process.
• Properly trained in QEHS Policy,Objectives,impact/risk assessment,relevant safe work rocedure/ operational control procedure, management programme, applicable legal and other requirements.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Provide a range of Consultant Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to completion
• Preparation of pre-contract cost estimates, cost plans, budgetary study and project cash-flow
• Measurement (taking off quantities) for all structural and architectural elements
• Preparation of tender and contract documentation
• Tendering process and tender evaluation
• Post-contract administration and management such as valuation of progress payment, review of variation request order, variation assessment, financial review reports
• Finalization of project final accounts
• Attendance at project and site meeting

Requirements

• Recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Building, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from recognized universities
• Minimum of 2 years (for Junior QS) and 4 years (for QS) of QS relevant working experience with both private and public sector clients and preferably with knowledge of SIA and PSSCOC forms of contract.
• Work experience gained from consultancy firm will be an advantage
• Good technical knowledge for measurement, cost estimating and construction technology
• Understand and familiar with professional practice and contract administration processes
• Able to work as a team player and multi-task on few on-going projects/ assignments
• Resourceful, independent, responsible and able to work in a challenging and fast paced environment
