Responsibilities

- Conduct research on computer vision, deep learning and AI, addressing a wide range of challenges in deep learning, computer vision, AIGC, graphics, large multi-modality models, diffusion models, video generation, 3D generation, video understanding, self-supervised learning, and autoregressive models.

- Explore the application of large-scale/super-large-scale visual foundation models, and contribute to the development of new technologies and products leveraging artificial intelligence.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Hold a Ph.D. degree in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, data science or related disciplines.

- At least 3 years of working experience in research or with relevant working experiences;

- Possess research and practical experience in one or more areas of computer vision, encompassing multimodal generation (e.g., text-to-image, image, video, 3D generation and editing), diffusion models, GANs, transformers for generation tasks, vision-language models, large-scale training and RLHF.

- Proven track record of high-impact research.

- Collaborate effectively with team members.

- Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

- Demonstrate impactful publications in leading AI conferences (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia) and journals (e.g., TPAMI, JMLR).

- Achievement as a winner in international academic competitions.

- Proficiency in one of the differentiable programming frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, etc.

The Role

You Will

You Need

Job Description

• Act as a Finance Business Partner to the designated Research Centre/ Institutes within the cluster and provide strategic support to its management and budget holders by proactively monitoring financial activities and financial reporting specific to the Institutes, and clearly communicating results of the analyses.
• As a team leader supporting Cluster lead in leading and managing the research finance cluster.
• Provide financial and business advisories to the Institutes that are critical to the decision-making purposes and ensure compliance with University’s financial policies and procedures, and funding agencies’ terms & conditions / guidelines.
• Foster and maintain a regular working relationship within the Institutes, central shared services teams, and other functional partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Oversight

• Lead a team of 3-4 staff (direct and indirect), where applicable
• Ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations of the Research Centre (RCE) / Institutes (RICs) within the cluster, including exercising financial control over budget expenditure, revenue collection and financial reporting.
• Drive the annual budget and forecast exercises by coordinating all movements of budget, ensuring timely submission of budgets to central teams.
• Participate in strategic meetings and budget planning sessions with the Institutes’ management, providing valuable financial insights to aid decision-making.
• Partner closely with Institutes to guide cost-efficiency initiatives and offer expertise in implementing resource optimization strategies, leading to a reduction in operational expenses.
• Analyse Institutes’ financial positions and funding status, offer insights and recommendations for periodic reporting to the Institutes’ management for decision-making processes.
• Prepare and present financial performance reports to the Institutes’ Governing Board/ Strategic Board, etc, ensuring clarity and accuracy of information.

Grant and Fund Management

• Partner closely with Institutes (as host institution) for effective grant administration, provide financial guidance throughout the grant lifecycle and facilitate budget allocation for various projects and funding sources, to enhance the host institute’s financial stability and research pursuits.
• Collaborate with budget owners to manage grants / funds and proactively identify issues for timely solutions and ensure optimal utilisation of funds.
• Ensure full understanding and compliance with the terms and conditions of the grants as predetermined in the signed letter of awards / agreements.
• Oversee grant claim statements preparation and timely submission to funding agencies, including liaison with auditors and fulfilment of audit requirements, and prompt response to queries for a smooth and timely audit fieldwork.
• Work collaboratively with the Institutes’ stakeholders and central shared services teams during financial year-end closing and grants’ closing activities to ensure all legitimate transactions are properly recorded and all financial reports are accurately prepared.

Governance, Controls and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with related tax filing matters including GST, withholding tax and taxable benefits for personal claims.
• Timely perform Risk Control Matrix (RCM) testing and address anomalies to mitigate financial risks, and ensure certification sign-off by Institute’s HOA before the financial year’s closing deadline.
• Liaise with internal auditors on all internal audit matters, where required.
• Coordinate and oversee the annual fixed assets verification exercise of the designated Institutes. Work collaboratively with Institutes’ stakeholders to ensure compliance with the verification procedures and maintain accurate records of fixed assets.

Leadership

• Drive strategic planning efforts, outlining objectives, strategies and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team’s success.
• Make critical decisions and provide guidance to the team in complex situations, considering broader implications.
• Identify talent gaps. Mentor and coach team members on leadership, problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Guide the team through changes, effectively managing transitions and ensuring team members are aligned with new strategies or initiatives.
• Represent the cluster in cross-cluster meetings and strategic discussions, advocating for team needs and accomplishments.

Process Improvement and Stakeholder Communication

• Proactively engage with Institutes’ stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges and goals.
• Provide guidance and updates to stakeholders on finance policies, guidelines and procedures, as and when required.
• Identify opportunities to develop guidelines and streamline financial processes for operational efficiency and resource optimization.
• Lead change initiatives such as projects, system implementation and other assignments as may be directed from time to time.
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as requested by Institutes or assigned by Cluster lead.

Qualifications

• Accounting Degree/ACCA or equivalent with at least 10 years of relevant working experience
• Exposure to grant budgets, funding agencies’ regulations and financial compliance requirements in a research or education environment will be advantageous
• Technically competent with up-to-date knowledge of accounting / audit standards and practices
• Ability to quickly learn and grasp the implications of terms and conditions for each managed grant

- Use pre-training, simulation and other technologies to model various environments in the virtual/real world, provide the basic ability of multi-modal interactive exploration, promote application landing, and develop new technologies and new products with artificial intelligence technology as the core.

The Doubao Large Language Model (LLM) team is dedicated to aggressively advancing the next generation of LLMs, tackling fundamental challenges in LLM development head-on. Our areas of concentration include model self-learning, memory capabilities, long-text generation, and interpretability. 4. Relevant application landing, including generation creation, logical reasoning, code generation, etc;

5. Conduct in-depth research and explore more usage scenarios of the model in future life, and expand the application scope of the model.

About The Team:

The mission of the TikTok Eng-AI Innovation Center is to explore cutting-edge AGI technologies, including but not limited to LLM, multi-modal LLM (video/image/audio/text/code), etc., to let machine better understand user creations on Tiktok platform. Regarding to video/image/audio/text, enhanced content understanding can bring better user experience of searching, recommendation, and can more accurately identify and defend internet abuse and fraud on our platform. Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Life Sciences Institute is a research centre dedicated to the understanding of fundamental biological pathways in human health and disease, environmental science and industrial processes.

We are looking for an individual trained in cell culture, transfection and standard molecular biology assays such as confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, western blot, immunohistochemistry.

The job would include performing:

1. In vitro experiments with cell culture
2. Standard molecular biology assays such as immunostaining, convocation microscopy, flow cytometry, cryosectioning
3. Performing in-vivo experiments with rodents - involves rodent anaesthesia, perfusion, dissection
4. Helping out with purchasing items and laboratory housekeeping

Qualifications

Applicant should:

• Successfully completed Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences
• Preferably have prior knowledge in tissue cryo-sectioning, preparation of paraffin-embedded tissues and familiar with immunofluorescence staining of animal tissues.
• Be comfortable with animal handling. Prior experience is preferred but not required
• Preferably have prior experience in basic laboratory techniques such as cell culture, histology, and confocal microscopy is advantageous.
• Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

- Explore and research multi-modal understanding, generative, machine learning, reinforcement learning, AIGC, computer vision, artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies.

- Explore the basic model of large-scale/ultra-large-scale multi-modal understanding and generation interweaving, and carry out extreme system optimization; Data construction, instruction fine-tuning, preference alignment, model optimization; Improve the ability of data synthesis, scalable oversight, model reasoning and planning, build a comprehensive, objective and accurate evaluation system, and explore and improve the ability of large models.

- Explore and break through the advanced capabilities of multi-modal models and world models, including but not limited to multi-modal RAG, visual COT and Agent, and build a universal multi-modal Agent for GUI/ games and other virtual worlds.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree or above, computer, electronics, mathematics and other related majors.

- Have in-depth research in one or more fields such as computer vision, multimodal, AIGC, machine learning, rendering generation, etc..

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; Ability to solve large model training and application problems; Ability to explore solutions independently.

- With good communication and collaboration skills, proactive work, able to harmoniously cooperate with the team to explore new technologies and promote technological progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

- With excellent basic algorithms, solid foundation of machine learning, familiar with CV, AIGC, NLP, RL, ML and other fields of technology, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGGRAPH or SIGGRAPH Asia and other top conferences/journals published papers are preferred.

- With excellent coding ability, proficient in C/C++ or Python programming language, ACM/ICPC, NOI/IOl, Top Coder, Kaggle and other competition winners preferred.

- In the fields of multimodal, large model, basic model, world model, RL, rendering generation, leading projects with too much influence is preferred.
