Overseas Learning

• Review and update standard operating procedure for overseas learning programme

• Organise information sessions and advise students on programme opportunities and requirements

• Advise students on personal and academic goals, partner university selection, health and safety concerns, intercultural competency, etc.

• Assist students with the study abroad application process, including advising on financial aid and scholarships, courses equivalency process, registration, transcripts, credits and other administrative tasks

• Facilitate course matching process between scholars, home programmes and partner Universities

• Stay abreast of all travel alerts, travel warnings and events abroad that might affect students.

• Handle communication between NTU departments, partner Universities and students

Outreach

• Develop and implement communications strategies, campaigns and/ or initiatives to achieve the goals and objectives of the programme

• Produce collaterals such as videos, brochures, and posters etc

External/Alumni Relations

• Plan and organize visits from/to foreign universities, government ministries, schools (secondary and junior colleges) and corporations, etc.

Student Club

The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Research Engineer II in the area of Stress Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct structural analysis and assess the strength and durability of aircraft components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods to model and simulate structural behaviour under various loading conditions.
• Collaborate with the aircraft design team to provide input on structural considerations during the design phase.
• Develop, validate, and execute FEM models to analyse stress, strain, and deformation of aircraft structures.

The School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Research Fellow is expected to play a lead role in the reliability testing and failure analysis of GaN High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMT) integrated on silicon CMOS devices. He/she will be involved in carrying out accelerated testing of multiple devices fabricated under different conditions using package/wafer level testing. Failure analysis on the devices will also be carried out using SEM/EDX, TEM, etc. The job will also involve working with researchers from the fabrication and application teams, from School of EEE, NTU and Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out reliability study on the CMOS + GaN HEMT ICs fabricated by the other research teams in the programme

• Carry out failure analysis on the CMOS + GaN HEMT ICs fabricated by the other research teams in the programme

Nanyang Business School (NBS) invites applications for the position of Senior Research Fellow (Post-doc) with Prof. Xin Chang’s research group. This position is supported by a Tier III grant to establish a Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) at NTU. As part of this programme, the Climate Finance Cluster will assess the multifaceted business risks posed by the physical impacts of climate change, narrow the protection gap, and facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for developing procedures to measure and price risks arising from climate change suitable for each company so that climate risk can be managed by companies and hedged by investors, and seeing this work through to publication in major research journals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use computational linguistic tools and machine learning techniques to analyze discussions on climate change in corporate social responsibility reports, conference call transcripts, and the Management Discussion and Analysis section of companies’ annual reports

• Construct a dataset that can produce a climate risk fact sheet containing essential information about various climate risk exposure (e.g., drought, flooding) of a region or a city

• Develop a new multifactor asset pricing model containing a climate risk factor, which investors can use to effectively price in climate change risk and hedge climate risk

• Handle data management and statistical analyses

• Work effectively with colleagues from across the CTP, and with local collaborators in ASEAN countries

• Mentor junior colleagues and students

• Handle writing and publication of results in peer-reviewed journals

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in statistics, computer sciences, economics, or a closely related field

• Excellent knowledge of computational linguistic tools and machine learning techniques
