Job Description

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore, and MajuLab, the French-Singaporean international laboratory, are seeking a talented postdoctoral research fellow to conduct theoretical and numerical investigations on random quantum circuits and their connection with Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) physics in quantum systems.

The KPZ equation, introduced in 1986 to describe the growth of rough surfaces, has since become a captivating area of research due to its remarkable universality. A recent article by Nahum et al. [PRX 7, 031016 (2017)] observation an interesting connection between the entanglement growth in random quantum Clifford circuits and KPZ phenomena. This project aims at exploring this connection more broadly, and to discover links with two other quantum platforms studied within the same project that also manifest KPZ physics – systems with Anderson localization and exciton-polariton condensates.

The Research Fellow’s primary focus will be on the random circuit aspects, but they can expect to have close interactions with team members from the other two platforms.

Job Requirements

The candidate should possess a solid academic track record and strong numerical simulation skills. Prior experience in quantum information and computation topics, especially in stabilizer simulations, would be preferred.

The appointee will join CQT at the National University of Singapore under the supervision of a group of researchers including Profs. Key Duties / Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled installations and retrofits of automatic door parts, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
• Troubleshoot and conduct on-site inspections of automatic entrances, identifying issues and recommending suitable parts for the client's consideration.
• Prepare site reports to document completion of work, testing/commissioning, as well as conducting risk assessments for all automatic entrance systems and products.
• Recommend upgrades for automatic door entrances and provide feasible solutions for existing door entrances of clients.
• Maintain the assigned service vehicle in a roadworthy condition and ensure cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
• Stay updated on product information and technical knowledge company’s and competitor's products.
• Ensure all provided tools and equipment are kept in good working condition, promptly replacing damaged or worn-out tools/equipment.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management or your immediate supervisor.

Who We Need

As a Patient Service Officer, you shall be responsible in providing excellent customer service to callers and communicating effectively with people from all levels. Your responsibilities are as stated below.

Booking Office:

• Attending to incoming calls from internal and external stakeholders pertaining Operating theatre bookings/Bed admission requests.
• Scheduling surgeries in Operating theatre promptly and accurately.
• Performing outbound calls to clinics to confirm surgery cases for the next day or if there are any amendments and cancellation.
• Attending to bookings/cancellation/amendment requests via chat.
• Achieving department KPI’s and attending to all interactions across all platforms professionally and with high level of service.
• Allocating appropriate resources i.e. operating theatre, schedules of surgeons/assistants/equipments.
• Performing administrative duties such as blocking of operating theatre in the system/checking that cases are all accurately booked.
• Ensuring that Operating theatre slots are effectively optimized.
• Facilitating bed allocation to maximize the utilization of beds.
• Identifying potential bed tight situation and activating contingency plans.
• Submitting daily statistics to management.
• Any other ad-hoc projects and duties assigned by supervisor.

How to Succeed

• Possess at least Diploma, Nitec, GCE ‘A’, ‘O’, ‘N’ Levels in any discipline.
• Minimum 1-year experience in a customer service position.
• Experienced working in a Contact Centre/Bed management unit/Operating Theatre scheduling unit will be an added advantage.
• Able to work on Saturdays.
• Entry level candidates are welcome to apply.
