The Ramadan Group-Singapore is a newly established research group located at LKCMedicine/NTU. Led by Prof Kristijan Ramadan, who has previously headed a well-established research group in genome stability and cancer research at the University of Oxford, UK (The Ramadan Group-Oxford).

The Ramadan Group-Singapore is actively seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated, creative, and highly competent research fellow (post-doc) interested in addressing key biological questions in DNA-protein crosslink proteolysis repair. The Ramadan lab has recently discovered DNA-protein crosslink proteolysis repair as a specialised DNA repair pathway for the repair of covalently attached proteins to DNA, known as DNA-protein crosslinks. In collaboration with human geneticists, the laboratory has also identified Ruijs-Aalfs Syndrome, the first human disease associated with biallelic and monogenic mutations in the SPRTN gene/protein, the key enzyme in DNA-protein crosslink proteolysis repair. This novel DNA repair pathway has emerged as an essential mechanism for the protection against accelerated aging and liver cancer, and the upregulation of this repair mechanism is likely linked to cancer patient resistance to various chemotherapies.

The post holder will be responsible for the following:

• Perform a CRISPR/Cas9 screen in several mammalian cell lines.
• Validate the identified hits for their role in DNA repair.
• Execute follow-up experiments to generate a sufficient amount of results for a scientific publication.
• Manage own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

Gut microbiota influences many areas of human health from immunity to energy metabolism and host physiology. The goal of our research group is to understand how bacterial metabolism, diet-microbe, and microbe-microbe interactions influence cardiometabolic disease using experimental approaches. As an Equipment Engineer, you will own all assigned toolsets. The preferred candidate can troubleshoot difficult and poorly defined problems related to mechanics, electronics, and processes using tool knowledge/experience, SPC, schematics, and other available resources. The candidate will collaborate extensively with the area maintenance team and process engineering. Some collaboration will be with tool vendors, other area engineers/managers, procurement, and production.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and management of 200MM and 300MM Semiconductor processing equipment in Support of Main Stream Semiconductor Processes and Advanced Packaging processes. Highly desirable for a candidate to have a background in at least one of the following areas: Photolithography, PVD and CVD Thin Films, Dry Etch, Wet Etch /Wafer Clean, Diffusion, Bond, Electroplate (ECD), CMP, or Metrology (some areas may be combined).
• Work with process engineering to drive root-cause corrective actions for equipment failures, implement permanent solutions, and eliminate chronic and long-term down events.
• Lead continuous improvement teams to drive tool matching, availability, and throughput improvements and reduce risk.
• Management of new tool installation, start-up, and tool upgrades to increase fab capability and capacity, lower costs, and improve yields.
• Work with minimal supervision, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the Maintenance, Production, and Development organizations.

Required Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma with 10+ years of relevant Semiconductor Industry Experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or another relevant Engineering discipline.
