RESPONSIBILITIES

Work done will be at the direction of the PI, and where relevant, the Industry Director and Centre Director.As the Programme is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary by nature, you will be expected to convey yourdomain expertise and edify others (and vice versa) in as productive, constructive, and collaborative a manneras possible.

You may be asked to participate in the development of use cases and delivery of proof-of-concept prototypesfor government and industry partners in the areas of computable contracts and "rules as code". Experience inrequirements analysis and agile, iterative methodologies will be useful at this stage.The work of the team will be largely determined by these use cases and customers. We will work with multipleuse cases so that we can abstract across them and develop generalized, reusable infrastructure. We will workwith specific customers so we can build useful applications on top of that infrastructure.You will contribute to the design and development of open-source software written to serve those use cases.You will work as part of a team of research engineers, developers, and domain expertise and you will beexpected to actively participate in team meetings and text-based communications. You will be expected to beactive members of the applied research community, by validating and contributing to advances incomputational law.

You may be asked to conduct use-inspired research at the direction of the Principal Investigator. This includes

• reading academic papers, standards publications, and related material such as blog posts and presentations
• coming up to speed in fields which may be new to you, such as computational linguistics, mathematical logic, programming language design, formal verification, and model-based architecture
• reading (and updating/commenting, relevant) existing software documentation
• creating presentations, video recordings, walkthroughs, etc. to document and explain research work done
• writing (and presenting, if so decided by the PI) academic papers and materials for publication
• documenting in a sufficiently-detailed manner so as to share what you've learned

You will be expected to participate in software development; this includes

• learning how to use third party tools, including editors, IDEs, databases, business process modeling software, programming languages, and libraries
• evaluating competing software systems for suitability
• building infrastructure to enable application development
• managing yourself, and managing fellow team members
• engaging in product, project, and program management as needed
• reading books and consuming such other media forms about software development
• writing documentation such as user/developer-facing manuals, tutorials
• delivering community support to users and customers
• preparing presentations to represent the project before external audiences

Researchers under the Programme should possess both mastery of their academic speciality, anddemonstrated practical experience producing and supporting high-quality open-source code throughcommunity engagement across multiple media. Reporting to the Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless, coordinated patient-centric care according to patients’ needs and conditions.

• Conduct research on the application of VR/AR and Large Language Models in airlines cabin crew simulation training, aiming to enhance realism, interactivity, and knowledge transfer.
• Design and develop VR/AR-based training scenarios in Unity.
• Develop AI/LLM/natural language processing models to generate dynamic and realistic dialogue interactions for cabin crew-passenger scenario-based training.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager (Home Care), you are responsible for delivering patient-centric and compassionate care according to Home Care patients’ needs and conditions, in compliance with organisational standards, statutory requirements and stakeholders’ expectations. You are also involved in orientation, teaching and supervising of new/junior staff, working toward the goal of an effective and knowledgeable nursing team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the nursing care services rendered are safe, competent and individualised. Uphold nursing standards in documentation, treatment, patient monitoring and infection control.
• Manage complex patient care and demonstrate clinical skills, knowledge and critical thinking in the care delivered to patients.
• Monitor, reassess and evaluate the patient’s condition, implement a plan of care for the patient and support family members to cope with the patients' advanced disease.
• Coordinate the care of patients through an advising physician, provide direct patient care, evaluate the patients’ conditions, and serve as the liaison between families and physicians.
• Communicate and build rapport with patients and their families or caregivers. Assess the home needs in terms of training and requisition of equipment and aids to facilitate patient’s living.
• Allocate equipment as necessary to assure adequacy of resources to meet care requirements.
• Follow up to ensure continuity of patient care and treatment plans.
• Perform nursing care such as medication administration and wound dressing as required.
• Maintain proper documentation of patient’s condition and accurate collation of data (record of referral/enquiry/attendances).
• Facilitate and participate in Multidisciplinary Team meetings. Cooperate with other teams to provide smooth delivery of patient care and services.
• Keep active measures to ensure the safety of patients.
• Observe organisation and legal requirements regarding storage and control of drugs and medical supplies.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in matters involving patient care.
• Observe the proper use/care of the equipment and economical use of consumables and supplies.
• Handle public enquiries in an appropriate and professional manner.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures of AH. Enforce compliance with the Singapore Nursing Board's Standards of Practice for Nurses and Midwives and the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
• Undertake to keep oneself well informed of the updated industry guidelines and develops new skills that are necessary for the role.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation at all times.

Requirements:

• At least a Diploma in Nursing from the local Polytechnic and registered with Singapore Nursing Board. Post-registration experience in a hospital or hospice setting is preferred.
• Working knowledge in IT and systems.
• Passion to serve and provide excellent customer service to various stakeholders.
• Meticulous and accurate.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willing to contribute as an effective team player.
• Able to perform under pressure.

The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be the early identification of new pathogens, out of which new diagnostic tests, treatments and control strategies will be developed.

This position is for a full-time Senior Research Fellow position. The Laboratory of Virus Evolution (LoVE) studies rapidly evolving respiratory RNA viruses including influenza, parainfluenza and coronaviruses. Our research helps to understand the molecular drivers of virus evolution and population dynamics, and their influence on virulence and pathogenicity.

The candidate is expected to play a critical role in generating and fostering a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research environment. The candidate should possess a strong background in molecular virology and/or immunology, and will utilize metagenomics sequencing and virologic techniques to understand the evolutionary dynamics of different RNA viruses. The candidate will be involved in developing antiviral antibody therapies in the prevention and treatment of virus disease.

The candidate is expected to perform a variety of research under the Principal Investigator’s supervision or his/her designate. The main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: -

• Conduct and design experiments for rapid molecular diagnosis and efficient genomic sequencing
• Perform bioinformatics and phylogenetic analyses
• Develop and test novel antiviral preventive or therapeutics against virus infections.
• Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to study virulence and pathogenesis.
• Interface and network with clinical counterparts and team members to achieve the goals of the project.
• Write research papers, present research outcomes, conceptualise new ideas and develop plans for independent research which could have a considerable influence and impact on the relevant field attracting research funding.
• Provide support for external grant/protocol development, study design and management of research activities.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Job Requirements

• PhD in Virology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or other related disciplines.
• Have a strong background in molecular virology, particularly on RNA viruses.
• Possess strong laboratory skills and experience in animal research.
• Prior experience with antibody techniques is preferred.
• Possess excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Self-motived, able to work effectively and efficiently, willing to work hard to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce.
