The Southeast Asia Business Exchange initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum in Jakarta on 6 September 2023 as part of Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. The strategy, developed by Special Envoy for Southeast Asia, Mr Nicholas Moore AO, sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia’s two-way trade and investment with Southeast Asia.

The Southeast Asia Business Exchange Team will support Australian exporters to enter, compete and grow in Southeast Asia. They will also support efforts to boost two-way trade. As part of the program, Austrade team members will:

• Seek to strengthen Southeast Asia literacy in the Australian business community including driving awareness of the opportunities in Southeast Asian markets to Australian business and consumers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including industry bodies, business councils, and chambers.
• Recruit for and deliver sector specific business missions across the region in collaboration with partners.
• Perform and coordinate aftercare services for participants in business missions in collaboration with our regional network.

The Southeast Asia (SEA) Regional Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in creating the commercial and policy outcomes for the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a newly created role that reports to Deputy Director of Visitor Experience within the Audience Experience Management division. This division comprises Visitor Experience, Integrated Marketing & Creative Services and Digital Ecosystem. The successful candidate will champion a seamless omni channel visitor experience, with a major in onsite user (physical) experience design, and collaborates with Integrated Marketing, to minor in curating online pre and post visit journeys and touchpoints. RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience Design: Omnichannel Online/Offline Visitor Journey Design & Management

• Design user experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, visitor interviews, focus group discussions, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery.
• Further evolve the visitor experience to deliver personalized, differentiated visitor journeys, including the development of customized itineraries/product bundles which cut across the different product lines of the Gallery (exhibitions, public programmes, curatorial programmes, education/family programmes, tours, F&B experiences) and 3rd party partner offerings
• Create user flows and prototypes to effectively conceptualise and communicate detailed interaction behaviours.

Main Tasks:

INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

• Owner of the regional’s internal communications. e.g., townhall sessions, coffee chats and video messages. • Provision of strategic communications expertise and support to members of the senior leadership team to create and deliver compelling messages for key internal and external stakeholders across the region – including media events, key account customer meetings, industry events, and customer conferences.
• Active member of the Agricultural Solutions communications team in Asia Pacific, participates in select global calls and contributes to regional communications programs and activities. Liaise with global, regional, and country leaders to support the needs and interests of Asia Pacific and the Agricultural Solutions business respectively.
• Support crisis communication in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Prepare position papers, media responses as a part of issue management, and any incident/safety reactive messaging.

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

• Draft and review news releases and media pitches, prepare external communication materials in line with corporate and global one voice (incl. press releases and customer presentations), and coordinate media relations contacts for the Agricultural Solutions business across countries.
• Develop, steer, and implement global and regional communications projects that build the reputation of company.

Requirements:

• Minimum degree in communication, marketing, or other related field.
• Career history of at least 12 years with a minimum of 10 years in communications of a corporate environment. Experience of working a few years in an agency or in a regional responsibility is a plus.
• Working experience in a large multinational company with multiple stakeholders across various locations, experience in agriculture / chemical / bio-pharmaceutical industry a nice-to-have.
