Job Summary
The Director/Assistant Director of Marketing Communications (MarComms) is
responsible for shaping and executing MTFA’s communications, branding, and public
engagement strategy. This role focuses on enhancing MTFA’s visibility, reputation,
and outreach through effective storytelling and brand positioning. Reporting to the
CMO, the Director/AD of MarComms will lead the Publicity and Corporate
Communications teams to ensure consistent, impactful messaging that aligns with
MTFA’s mission, values, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
â—Ź Brand Strategy & Management
â—‹ Develop and implement a comprehensive branding strategy that
strengthens MTFA’s identity and resonates with key stakeholders,
including beneficiaries, donors, and the community.
○ Ensure MTFA’s messaging and visual identity are consistent across all
channels, supporting a unified brand presence.
â—‹ Oversee brand positioning and reputation management efforts to
enhance MTFA’s visibility and credibility as a leading charitable
organization.
â—Ź Public Relations & Media Outreach
â—‹ Lead the Publicity team in managing media relations, securing press
coverage, and promoting MTFA’s work in both local and international
media.
â—‹ Develop and nurture relationships with media partners, journalists, and
influencers to increase public awareness of MTFA’s mission and
impact.
○ Serve as MTFA’s primary spokesperson, handling media inquiries and
representing the organization in interviews, events, and other
public-facing opportunities.
â—Ź Corporate Communications
â—‹ Oversee the Corporate Communications team to ensure effective
internal and external communications that align with MTFA’s values
and objectives.
â—‹ Develop strategies for impactful communications to stakeholders,
including donors, partners, and volunteers, ensuring transparent and
timely information sharing.
○ Lead the development of MTFA’s annual reports, newsletters, press
releases, and other key publications, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and
alignment with MTFA’s messaging standards.
â—Ź Digital & Social Media Strategy
○ Drive MTFA’s digital marketing strategy, overseeing the creation and
management of content for social media, the website, email
newsletters, and other digital platforms.
â—‹ Collaborate with the Publicity team to develop engaging social media
campaigns that increase online visibility, foster engagement, and
strengthen community connections.
â—‹ Monitor digital trends and analytics to refine digital strategies, optimize
audience engagement, and enhance MTFA’s online presence.
â—Ź Campaign Development & Execution
â—‹ Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns that highlight
MTFA’s programs, initiatives, and events to relevant audiences.
â—‹ Work closely with the Fundraising team (RevOps) to support
fundraising campaigns, ensuring that messaging aligns with MTFA’s
brand while maintaining distinct responsibilities.
â—‹ Measure and evaluate campaign performance, making data-driven
adjustments to optimize reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
â—Ź Stakeholder Engagement & Community Relations
○ Develop and implement strategies for engaging MTFA’s diverse
stakeholders, including donors, partners, volunteers, and the
community, to foster strong, long-term relationships.
○ Organize and oversee MTFA’s community outreach events, ensuring
alignment with the organization’s goals and values.
â—‹ Provide support to other MTFA departments by creating tailored
communications that support their outreach and program objectives.
â—Ź Cross-functional Collaboration
â—‹ Collaborate closely with the Director/AD of RevOps to align marketing
and communications strategies with revenue objectives while
maintaining distinct functional responsibilities.
â—‹ Partner with internal teams to provide communications support for
MTFA’s various programs, ensuring a cohesive approach to public
messaging.
â—Ź Leadership & Team Development
â—‹ Provide mentorship and guidance to the Publicity and Corporate
Communications teams, fostering a collaborative, creative, and
results-driven work environment.
â—‹ Identify and address skill gaps within the MarComms team,
implementing training and development programs as needed.
â—‹ Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability within
the MarComms department.
Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public
Relations, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a
plus.
â—Ź Experience:
â—‹ Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing communications, public
relations, or related roles within a nonprofit, corporate, or agency
setting.
â—‹ Proven track record in brand management, media relations, and digital
marketing.
â—Ź Skills:
â—‹ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong
storytelling ability.
â—‹ Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
â—‹ Strategic thinker with experience in campaign planning, execution, and
evaluation.
â—‹ Familiarity with nonprofit communication strategies and branding
principles.
