Department of Geography: Manager / Assistant Senior Manager (Geographic Information Systems)

The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is inviting applications for a Manager / Assistant Senior Manager in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide support to the GIS Unit and its GIS educational programmes. The GIS Unit spearheads the research, training and applications of GIS in the Department and aims to extend beyond the academic realm to foster an Asia-focused GIS ecosystem with global reach. The Department is the leading centre in Singapore for GIS research and teaching, hosting comprehensive geospatial and other laboratory facilities. It currently runs three GIS educational programmes based upon a diverse range of courses; the MSc in Applied GIS and Graduate Certificate in Applied GIS at graduate level and the GIS Minor at undergraduate level. Plans are underway to complement the three existing programmes with a Graduate Diploma in Applied GIS (thereby creating a fully-stackable MSc degree in Applied GIS) and a Professional Certificate in Applied GIS.

Guest Service Responsibilities

• Attend to specific guests as required.

Technical Responsibilities

• Responsible for the production, preparation and presentation of all food items, to ensure highest quality at all times.
• Execute inspections of physical aspect the food preparation areas.

Relation

• Provide functional assistance and direction to the kitchen operation.
• Coordinate functions and activities with other Food & Beverage Departments.

Confidentiality

• Ensure Outlet, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.

Job Description & Requirements

• Assisting the Factory Manager to oversee the operations department include staff supervision, workflow and leave planning, setting up of events and maintenance of vehicles & equipments
• Responsible for product quality, maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Respond proactively and resolve and prevent all customer service situations
• Evaluate the operations and procedures and suggest improvements
• Any other related operational issues and projects as and when required
• Diploma/Certificate in Food and Beverage
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• Excellent leadership
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Maybe required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Bilingual to liaise with English and Chinese speaking associates
