Research project: Connecting within-host viral dynamics with the epidemiology of COVID-19: a multiscale computational infrastructure

In this project, we aim to develop a multiscale modeling framework and computational infrastructure to connect within-host viral dynamics/antibody dynamics and between-host transmission dynamics. The multiscale model will help address key epidemiological and public health questions which could not be answered by classic (single scale) approaches. Specifically, we plan to develop and calibrate the multiscale model for SARS-CoV-2 and assess effect of intervention (e.g., antiviral treatment) on epidemiological dynamics.

This project is led by Keisuke Ejima, an Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University.

The Research Fellow primarily leads the project under supervision of PI in the areas of collecting clean data, reviewing literatures, lead model development, lead data analyses, leading the manuscript writing and other areas of the project support.

Candidates should have a Master degree in a quantitative field, such as data science, computational biology, mathematics, computer science, (bio)statistics, or related field. The Carney lab investigates the cell dynamics in the skeletal system and epithelia. Its analyses have implications for fundamental cell biology, evolution, genetics and clinical underpinnings of disease. Guided by issues facing the clinic, the lab has recently modelled diseases affecting skeletal system and has developed a model of bone necrosis.

We are currently recruiting a Research Associate to work on interrogating a zebrafish model of a clinical bone necrosis. Working closely with a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, the job will include molecular biology, animal husbandry, cloning, transgenesis and genotyping as well as imaging approaches. Furthermore, the applicant will be expected to offer general support in laboratory maintenance tasks, including laboratory supply and inventory control, procurement and routine genotyping and fish line maintenance. Responsibilities

• Design and development of atom interferometry based sensors
• Work in collaboration with electronics engineers and mechanical engineers to develop the system
• Research on the improvement and miniaturization of atom interferometry based sensors
• Write patents

Must have skills

• PhD in Physics, with research experience in cold atom physics
• Proficient in experimental work
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Nice to have skills

• Prior experience in atom interferometry
• Built atom interferometry based gravimeter, accelerometer, or gyroscope

As a Research Engineer specializing in flexible perovskite solar cells, your responsibilities will revolve around conducting research, development, and optimization of this emerging technology. Here are some key job scopes for this position:

· Optimize deposition techniques, such as solution processing, vacuum deposition, or printing methods, to achieve uniform and high-quality perovskite thin films on flexible substrates.

· Investigate new materials, device architectures, and manufacturing methods to improve the overall performance and reliability of flexible perovskite solar cells.

· Investigate encapsulation strategies and barrier materials to protect flexible perovskite solar cells from degradation.

· Design and execute experiments to fabricate and characterize flexible perovskite solar cells.

· Conduct accelerated aging tests and reliability studies to evaluate long-term stability and durability of the devices.

· Scale up procedures from lab-scale to manufacturing scale.

· Conceptualize and realize new device configurations with enhanced stability and efficiency

· Report writing and results presentation

· Regular maintaining of research and study records, conceptualize, execute and interpret scientific experiments

Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing of the exhibition
• Offer support to Exhibition Attendant during all operating hours
• Carry out or coordinate the necessary maintenance tasks and cleaning tasks to guarantee the equipment and the set meet experience standards
• Offer technical support; troubleshoot technical problems as they occur and maintain all technological equipment
• Ensure the exhibition’s scenography are working and make repairs as they occur
• Ensure that the environment remains safe, clean and professional throughout the duration of the exhibition
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by management

5 days a week with 2 days off mostly to be on weekdays
