• Receive and process requests for review of papers, and appeals against results, liaising as required with relevant colleagues regarding educational aspects of such actions.
• Receive and process application for extension or deferred assessments in accordance with each respective education partner’s policies.
• Acquire knowledge of academic misconduct and be acquainted with its policies. Handle cases of academic misconduct, including plagiarism and cheating in accordance with each respective education partner’s policies, ensuring each case is followed up and recorded duly.
• Identify and track students at risk to provide relevant counselling and referring them to relevant academic skills support class.

3. Marking and Moderation

• Organise the marking of assessments and distribute assessments marking guidelines to lecturers, ensuring timely return of scripts and marks, including students’ feedback.
• Receive and process invoices for marking fees, ensuring accuracy of the entries and payment processed within timeline for submission to the Finance Department for disbursement.
• Manage assessment moderation in accordance with each respective education partner’s policies, ensuring outcomes from the Unit Coordinators are sent to the lecturers for actions if required.
• Co-ordinate the release of results and return of assessments post moderation within stipulated deadlines.

4. University Procedures

• Ensure student academic progress is in accordance with regulations.
• Assist with the preparation of Board of Examiners reports and documents. Attend the Board of Examiners every study period.

5. Academic Support

• Provide support and assist students with academic enquiries.
• Prepare the daily classroom schedules on the display monitors and maintain the locations where classroom schedules are displayed.

About The Role

This position is part of the Student Services (SS) department within Office of Academic Services (AS) serving as the first point of contact for students and alumni and enhancing the overall student services of the University. SS manages the SS hotline, counter, written correspondences, and administration of Electronic Course Evaluation (eCE) surveys to foster a student centric service environment.

Operations (30%)

We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to be based in our Vistra, Singapore office, to spearhead the growth of our cutting-edge digital platform. This platform streamlines the process for businesses to onboard, order, and track essential corporate services, including company formation, governance, reporting, and accounting, particularly in the vibrant Asia Pacific market. This role will report to the Head of Commercial (Global Entity Platform).

Key responsibilities:

• Drive the growth and adoption of our digital corporate services platform among large corporates in the Asia Pacific region.
• Utilize a robust network and strategic outreach to introduce and sell our digital platform to new clients.
• Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring the platform’s unique features are effectively communicated.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align platform capabilities with evolving client needs.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing significantly to the platform's market penetration and revenue goals.
• Provide market insights to inform continuous improvement of the platform and maintain a competitive edge.
• Represent Vistra in industry events and conferences, positioning our digital platform as a leader in corporate services technology.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in business development or sales, ideally in digital platforms or SaaS products, targeting large corporates.
• Established network in the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on corporate services or related industries.
• Proven track record of successful sales and business development in digital solutions.
• In-depth understanding of the digital landscape in corporate services, including trends and client needs.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across different cultural contexts.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Job duties:

• Lead and spearhead the operation and execution of project from inception development Phase to manufacturing start up to site installation to completion of project.
• Lead the project and facilitate coordination with client, architect, consultant and NSC.
• Monitor the site progress with site manager/coordinator/supervisor
• Develop project schedule
• Attend site meeting or progress meeting with client/architect/designer/consultant together with site project team.
• Handle all correspondences/documentation and prepare reports(emails, site progress report weekly update project schedule, etc.)
• Monitor and manage approved project budget by management and provide value engineering to work scope and materials
• Manage and resolve design and technical issues with site manager/coordinator/supervisor/Factory manager.
• Plan and schedule project timelines
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
• Provide direction and support to project team
• Quality assurance
• Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to management
• Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions (submit weekly site progress report to management)
• Monitor and manage rectification works.
• Establish progressive and finalized final claim to clients for each completed projects
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and other duties when required
• Evaluate and approve sub-contractors/suppliers claim and recommend appropriate payments

Job requirements:
• At least 15 years work experience in commercial / office fit-out.
• Have a passion for Interior Design
• Experience in ID projects
• Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of architectural, building, and mechanical and electrical works
• Proven experience in managing site work and managing a project team
• Proven experience in people management and problem-solving skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead in the development and execution of communications projects, initiatives and global media partnerships in support of SMU's engaged city university strategic thrust.
• Enhancing SMU's brand and reputation regionally through the University's overseas centres, the role will provide support through strategic communications and media publicity planning, and work with partners on the execution of plans.
• Develop compelling content that clearly conveys the meaningful impact SMU makes through its education, research and global engagement, with focus on its three strategic priorities to realise SMU Vision 2025.
• Internal communications, the role will develop strategic plans, write and oversee the preparation of SMU President's communications to the University community.
• Oversee the creative conceptualising, planning and production of the University's annual report and corporate newsletter.
• Other duties include conducting research, developing, writing and editing a wide variety of materials including quotes, video scripts, speeches, talking points, background materials, narratives, opinion-editorial and thought leadership pieces.
• Principal Counsel on comms and media publicity matters to School of Accountancy and School of Social Sciences, and to Office of Partnerships and Engagement and its affiliate offices, Office of Overseas Centres and its affiliate offices, Office of Advancement, SMU Libraries and Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre.

• A bachelor's degree in journalism, English, literature, communications, creative writing, or a similar discipline.
• A master's degree is preferable.
• Keen interest in current affairs, and geopolitical and socio-economic issues and is also intellectually curious.
• Positive attitude with the ability to pivot quickly to changes.
• A good understanding of public speaking, aware of language subtleties and always crafts speeches as well as messages with the audience in mind.

ACCOUNTABILITES

• Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Support the implementation of regulatory standards and controls within Student Records (SR) processes; compile reports/documents necessary to support all regulatory reporting/audits.
• Centralised Services: Plan, execute activities necessary for the team to provide centralized services. These include Student’s Pass (STP) processing, TransitLink PEI-Student concession card for eligible students, verification of qualification and processing of Personal Data Protection-related queries.
• Audits: Prepare and ensure readiness of documentations to support all internal and external audits on SR department.
• Student Records Management: Maintain student-related records, including document keeping, in accordance to established SR processes.
• Student Records Policies and Procedures: Provide and compile inputs to the review of SR policies and procedures to meet operational/annual review requirements.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Recommend and implement improvements to SR processes to address new business requirements/user experience and in achieving operational efficiency.
• Budgeting: Monitor and manage the annual budget of SR department for budget items assigned by Supervisor and/or Managerial Leader.

• Define the vison for the Malaysia team and help grow the tech practice in the business unit.

• Ensure all client work and projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Work closely with the rest of the senior leadership team to develop, implement and analyse the company’s strategic growth plans.
