Overall Purpose of the Job

To provide high quality and timely analytical services for both treaty and facultative lines business. This includes reserving, commutation valuation, model development, segmentation analysis and other ad hoc actuarial projects.

Perform other actuarially related work as required and carry out quantitative analysis to support decision making.

Reports To : Head, Actuarial

Direct Reports : N.A.

This is a 18 month contract role

Specific Responsibilities

· Perform analyses to support monthly & quarterly reserving, which include data preparation, updating calculation worksheets, evaluating loss ratio trends, analyzing claims development, mix of business shifts, reserve adequacy.

· Support the preparation of presentation slides for the reserving committee meeting and management reporting; preparation of the meeting minutes for the reserving committee meeting.

· Perform commutation valuation and other actuarial studies, such as risk based capital calculation, asset liability management.

· Gain knowledge about company operations, systems and actuarial methodologies. Actively participate, contribute to and prepare for / adjust to changes in the operating environment in relation to the integration of systems and management of data and data reporting;

· Any other related duties as assigned, such as support on IFRS17, M&A valuation, special portfolio review, etc.

Required Skills / Work Experience

· Outstanding ability to communicate effectively with people across a range of disciplines;

· The ability to work independently on specified projects;

· Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access, including the ability to analyse large volumes of data;

· Asian language skills preferred.

Required Qualifications

· Degree in quantitative discipline (Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Applied Math and Statistics, Engineering, Mathematical Finance or equivalent)

· In pursuit of actuarial qualification. (e.g. Follow of Society of Actuaries, Fellow of Institute of Actuaries)

Job Description:

• Evaluate corporate credit risk relating to credit terms and conditions prior to drawdown of facilities, to ensure full compliance and adherence prior to sign-off
• Liaise with Branch's front-office and back-office departments in processing of credit and trade transactions
