• Resolve incidents

1. Support problem/issue identification and resolution
2. Escalate problems/issues
3. Support simulation of user problems to resolve operating difficulties
4. Diagnose problem source through discussions with users
5. Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems
6. Support planned maintenance events, system backup processes and disaster recovery drills

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent fields
• At least 5-6 years of experience in the Network Management and Support Services including CCNA and routing & switches
• Strong knowledge and experience in supporting

1. Cisco Switch, Cisco Router, Fortigate Firewall, Palo Alto Firewall, ClearPass NAC, F5 VPN, IPS, WLC, Access Point and VSS/VLAN Architectures
2. Network Support in the areas of wireless, wired, VPN
3. Network certifications eg CCNE, CCNA

The Systems Engineer undertakes complex projects related to systems provisioning, installations, configurations as well as monitoring and maintenance. He/She applies highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in systems administration and works toward continuous optimisation of systems performance. He implements systems improvements andninstructs other IT staff in the resolution of complex issues. He is required to be on standby with on-call availability with varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. He is able to quickly and effectively solve issues as they arise. He is able to methodically identify the cause of the issue, evaluate it and develop a solution in collaboration with the team. He communicates effectively and displays high level of service standards.

Role and Responsibilities

Execute Systems Administration Service Levels

• Monitor systems performance and usage, including response times
• Supervise backups, optimisation, initiation of recovery procedures and routine troubleshooting
• Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure systems integrity and security
• Determine the systems’ short- and long-term requirements
• Manage systems report production

Advise on System Capabilities

• Advise senior leaders on system concepts and functional capabilities
• Provide technical advice to the team and clients on installation, setup, configuration of systems
• Interpret internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices
• Implement plans to make systems available to users in a shared, secure and controlled manner

Develop New Systems

• Lead the development of new systems as per the system requirements
• Design security and integrity controls
• Conduct new systems testing and implementation
• Define the system maintenance procedures
• Analyse the use of new systems to identify enhancement needs research initiatives for the development of advanced and automated approaches for system administration

Optimise systems performance

• Seek opportunities to optimise the delivery of systems services with emphasis on availability, reliability, scalability, and security

• Develop automated processes to define, measure, and report on service quality, stability and capacity

Resolve issues

• Oversee the assessment of risks to systems
• Identify complex system issues to provide advisory to the stakeholders

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years experience in developing, implementing and maintaining IT systems

• Strong communications skills with stakeholders and ROs.
• Familiar with Windows, Linux, VMware servers
• Perform implementation and maintenance of minimally on 50-100 servers at a time

Job Description

• A Marine Electrical Engineer whose working experience will include Failure Modes and Effects Analysis for Dynamic Positioning Equipment Class 2 and 3 vessels as a team member and independently witnessing DP FMEA Proving Trials and Annual DP Trials in the capacity of third-party surveyor.
• Familiar with IMCA DP related guidelines and with the requirements of Oil Majors, including ASOG development and implementation.
• Familiar and experienced with inspections of vessels working in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.
• Willing to take on new roles such as superintendency and project management of vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry dockings.
