Job Description:

You will participate in the specification, design and design maintenance of high-tech mechanic system solutions for professional mechatronic equipment, and enable optimal functionality and cost effective engineering of those systems. You are a highly talented and ambitious engineer with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering. VDL offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities to travel abroad.

You will participate in the following phases for system (re)design projects:

• Quotation Phase: create a plan with scope, cost and lead time estimation together with the project team and the customer
• Feasibility phase: consolidate customer requirement specifications into an investigation of the feasibility of mechanical concepts
• Definition Phase: develop Description of System Design Requirements and Specifications.
• System Design Phase: generation of system design concepts and reviews:
• Develop well-considered choices, validated against system requirements
• Definition of high level modules and related technical interfaces
• Monitor that projects stay within agreed specifications.
• Make use of your creativity and helicopter view to find solutions in case of conflicts.
• Detail Phase: create schematics, 3D models and drawings
• System integration and verification: verify design / the chosen concept on the requirements by means of functional models or (pre-)proto production
• Production release: Release the design for production.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Electro-mechanical engineering, preferably with a focus on motion systems and with experience in high-tech equipment

· Knowledge of electric design principles of cabling, connectors, safety systems, electronic racks, PCB design

· Knowledge of mechanic design principles, accurate positioning, dynamic behavior, material properties, strength and stiffness

• User of 3D design tools and schematic drawing tools (e.g. NX, SolidWorks, E-Plan)
• User of product lifecycle management systems (e.g. TeamCenter or EPDM)
• Have programming skills and ability to debug electrical systems
• Thorough understanding of motion control systems

Additional requirements for Sr. Mechatronic Engineer:

· At least 5 years of relevant working experience (semicon, precision mechanics, or similar)

· Deep understanding and experience in the different design phases ranging from conceptual design up to Proto- and Pilot evaluation

· Experience in multidisciplinary projects, knowing interdependency between electrical, electromechanical and mechanical (sub)systems

Duties:

Contribute to the preparation of Commissioning Plans

Preparation of Commissioning Documentation including Commissioning Manuals, Inspection & Test Plans, Inspection & Test Reports and Training Manuals.

Reviewing P&ID diagrams and provide strategies to commission plant and equipment in to existing processes in line with client specifications without compromising process and reducing risks.

Attendance at commissioning meetings with representatives from our clients engineering and operational teams

Undertaking Factory Acceptance Testing for major items of plant.

Liaising with our suppliers and subcontractors throughout the on-site commissioning process

The commissioning, interfacing and setting to work of equipment, including:Motor Control Centres

Pumping Plant

Process Equipment

Standby Generation Equipment

Knowledge of PLC software packages would be a distinct advantage.

Undertake or supervise the NICEIC electrical installation testing to C& G 2391 as requested.

Demonstration of commissioned plant to our clients representatives to gain plant sign off prior to takeover.

Undertaking client training covering both operational and technical competencies.

Completion of commissioning records and diaries ensuring that all progress and equipment settings are recorded for the O&M manuals.

Assist the design team by undertaking site visits to gather information for the purposes of tendering or design prior to construction.

Assist the design team and prepare electrical designs ensuring compliance with the current IEE regulations and all other relevant specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure projects are well executed within budget, on schedule, safely and with good quality.
• Generate engineering drawings and calculate bill of materials.
• Liase with vendors/contractors and production team for smooth project execution.
• Provide good engineering solution during project execution.
• Prepare and submit project documentation (MDR/Operation Manual)
• Prepare cost estimates and assist in quotation and tendering.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines with 2 years experience or O level with at least 5 years of relevant experience

POSITION SUMMARY

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASK

1. Compile and maintain records such as time, date, type, quantity, quality, source and destination of water samples collected from customers.
2. Perform water analysis in the laboratory for both internal and external customers and generate the resultant water analysis report.
3. Evaluate water analysis results CCto help determine root cause of customer’s complaints and provide recommendation to help resolve product / process issues.
4. Procure, exercise and maintain safe and secure inventory control and storage of chemicals, apparatus and analytical equipment in the laboratory.
5. Conduct bench and pilot scale treatability test or evaluation product performance.
6. Responsible to maintain lab and surrounding areas in a safe and good operating condition in accordance to factory regulations and environmental standards.
7. Support company’s ISO audit by providing proper documentation of the records, reports, and SOPs.
8. Preparation of chemicals for product sales
9. Assist in development of water and wastewater treatment solutions
10. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities i.e. 5S and LEAN 101 and Emergency Response Operation including fire drills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Chemistry Degree / Diploma
• specialized skill training/experience/certification for laboratory operation is preferred
• 2 - 3 years of successfully demonstrated experience in the area of responsibility
• Above requirement plus specialized skill training/certification
• Geographic Regions Supported: South East Asia
• Knowledge of water quality analysis such as TSS, TDS, COD, Turbidity, TOC, Ion Chromatography et.; knowledge of chemical handling and water treatment process; Knowledge of EHS requirements in the use storage of different types of materials and chemicals including hazardous chemicals in water treatment.
• Above requirement plus communication and basic computer skills. Interact with others requiring social skills, a straight forward exchange of information and the ability to understand and influence using data and logic.
