Job Description:

• Plan, control, and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, dry-docking, conversion or modification of assigned ships, including preparation of docking specifications, cost compilation and the final reports;
• Update, implement and monitor the Fleet Management system including Planned Maintenance Programs (PMS-Eng);
• Carry out ship inspections, which will include a minimum of one port of sailing visit on board with the associated reports;
• Formulate a dynamic work plan and action list with the Chief Engineer;

• Ensure calibration validity of MMC, gas detection equipment and alcohol meters;
• Ensure annual servicing of portable and fixed LSA & FFA such as fire extinguishers, L/rafts, SCBA sets, EEBD sets, L/boat and Rescue boat davit annual test, EPIRB and VDR annual performance test, L/boat air bottle, BA compressor air quality test, etc.;
• Help maintain the Company’s TMSA;
• Keep abreast, update and implement new rules, regulations and legislations applicable to the Company and Fleet;
• Help plan, coordinate and attend to the new-build, delivery and sale of the ship, as and when required;
• Participate in maritime organizations, committees and working groups as and when required;
• Draw up, implement and monitor the budget and cost control for the fleet, including docking and modifications;
• Carry out other ad hoc duties assigned by the Management.

Job Requirements: (Harbour Fleet)

• Possess Certificate of Competency (Engine) Class 1 or Class 2 (Port Limit), or alternatively Class 2 or 3 (Foreign Going), can be considered;
• Degree or Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering;
• Preferably to have 2-year experience as Chief Engineer in petroleum and chemical tankers below 20,000 mt deadweight and 4-stroke main diesel engines;
• Preferably have 1-year experience as shore-based Technical Superintendent;

Job Duties:

• Procurement, sourcing and purchase of vessels’ spare parts, supplies and services including preparation of relevant purchase orders and job orders to ensure proper supply for vessels.
• Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order for Superintendents to review and determine the best offer among potential suppliers.
• Verify suppliers’ invoices against quotations and keeping track of vessels’ total expenditure against approved budgets. Verifies item received with items ordered; liaise and resolve with suppliers for mismatch item
• Monitor vessels’ movements, liaising with suppliers, masters and agents to ensure that supplies are delivered on board timely.
• Responsible for accurate record keeping, follow-up and filing of all stores and spares purchased for vessels.
• Actively follow up on vessels’ defect reports, arrangement of third party service vendors and docking issues etc.
• Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendent and shipboard officers.
• Co-ordinate with vessels on various technical matters as instructed by the Superintendents.
• Maintain and update vessels’ technical certificates and arrangement of renewals whenever required.
• Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by Technical Superintendents and or Technical Manager.
