Overall Purpose of Role

Seatronics is responsible for carrying out the supply, installation and servicing of a wide range of marine electronics. As Logistics Assistant, you will support the Operations Manager to manage the logistics of the rental and sales pools ensuring the accurate control of goods in/out, stock, asset control, rental equipment and to ensure these are transported accordingly. By liaising with external agencies and internal departments, you will ensure that the import and export needs of the Seatronics division are met and that Company procedures are followed. You will be responsible for overseeing that all paperwork is kept to ISO 9001 and compliance standards.

The responsibilities of the postholder will include but not be limited to the following:

Logistics

· Arranging collections for items to be dispatched, including international freight.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites application for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of intelligent transportation systems with emphasis on system development, deployment, integration, and delivery.

The candidate is expected to work on

(1) research projects related to smart lamp post development, deployment, integration, and delivery for related applications under the Cisco-NUS Accelerated Digital Economy Corporate Laboratory.

(2) Work with contractors and agencies for systems hardware and software development and field deployment and must be willing to go on field and discuss on progress with contractors appointed to work on the trials. In addition, the candidate should also possess good communication and team working skills and can present research findings in publications and professional meetings (including with agencies and the industry).

Job Requirements

• Possess a Ph.D. degree in a related discipline (transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines)
• strong interests and expertise in traffic simulation, statistical modeling, mathematical programming, reinforcement learning, and optimization
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Has relevant expertise and work experience in traffic simulation software and programming with at least one language, e.g., Python, Java, or C++.
• Open to fixed term contract.

*Logistics sales operation - coordinate import/export, warehousing, shipping via sea, air,

truck by liaising with partners and clients (mainly in Singapore and Malaysia).

*Responsible for clients' enquiries through emails and phone call.

*Delivery arrangement and Shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, Marine cargo insurance

etc) preparation, Issuance of Invoice for billiing.

*Data entry on MS Excel sheet and filing related documents.

*Process and monitor customer orders to ensure on time delivery.

*Work closely with Japan HQ for the coordination of shipping.

(Email basis regarding the shipping products from Japan)

*Work closely with logistic partner and visit partner's warehouse about 1-2 times in a month

for checking amount of products and passing necessary documentation.

(Warehouse location: Clementi, Jurong, Changi area)

*Other Ad-hoc duties assigned by Manager.

• Responsible for day to day purchasing operation.
• Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders for non-technical items.

• Process customer orders and routings
• Respond to customer’s shipment inquiries (tracking, routings, quotations, booking confirmation etc) in a timely manner
• Process import and export shipment documentation - Singapore and APAC
• Order processing in MNX's TMS (Transportation Management System) and C1 (Cargowise)
• Coordinating shipments and handling operational requirements
• Processing of Singapore airfreight Import / export documentations (Full-cycle) In-depth training will be provided.
• General administrative duties including data entry, filing etc
• Participate in other company projects and duties as assigned
• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Training will be provided.
• Knowledge in Freight Forwarding operations or in a similar role with Import/Export experience a plus
• Experience in handling air forwarding operations. Experience and focus on critical logistics and cold chain, biopharma, medical devices and clinical trials logistics a plus.
• Service/call center experience will have added advantage
• Proficient in both written and spoken English-Fluency in a second language is a plus
• Possess at least ‘O’ level, professional certificate/NiTEC/Diploma or Advanced/Higher/graduate Diploma in any field
• Proficient with MS office applications
• Previous experience with Cargowise or ParcelLogic-TMS is a plus .
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite products
