About the role
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Solutions Manager for Asia Pacific, this role will manage a diversified series of projects, assist application development teams in adopting new technology, and plan ongoing maintenance and enhancements for existing systems and frameworks. This is a 1-year contract position.
What you will be doing
ā¢ Apply and adapt Project Management best practices: project scoping, planning strategies, milestones and schedules definition, reporting of project status, issue tracking, change control.
ā¢ Create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into information supporting decision making: gather, analyze, and document reporting functional and technical requirements.
ā¢ Work closely with business stakeholders to make sure data definitions and technical logic specifications align with business requirements.
ā¢ Oversee test plan, test cases and test scripts.
ā¢ Perform data extractions via SQL and present findings to stakeholders.
ā¢ Analyze production problems, realize / recommend data correction.
ā¢ Support remote BI users on training and best practices on BI tools, where to find data.
ā¢ Maintain user guides and release notes up to date.
The successful candidate
Essential
ā¢ At least 3 years experience in Business Intelligence project management (Waterfall and Agile)
ā¢ Working experience with any of the following BI tools (ordered by preference): Tableau, Power BI, IBM Cognos Analytics, IBM Planning Analytics, Business Object, Qlikview
ā¢ Good knowledge of relational and multidimensional data models (star schemas, cubes)
ā¢ Strong skills with SQL (preferably T-SQL)
ā¢ Basic knowledge of financial reporting (P&L, BS, CF)
ā¢ Good written and spoken English
ā¢ Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyze and understand business needs in order to translate them into report/ dashboard specifications and deliverable solutions
ā¢ Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage own workload
ā¢ Proactive, able to suggest improvements of processes, systems, code... and prioritize them
Desirable
ā¢ Strong customer focused, team-oriented communication skills with emphasis on building lasting, trusted partnerships through written and verbal communications
ā¢ Experience with / knowledge of at least one of the functional areas: finance management, customer relationships and sales, freight forwarding or logistics operations
ā¢ Experience with / knowledge of finance (non-banking), transportation or logistics domains
ā¢ Experience with / understanding of OLAP solutions and MDX (TM1 especially)
ā¢ Willing to work with and learn new technologies
