SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

We are a boutique CPE registered school located in Orchard Road offering classes to both mainstream children and children with developmental or academic challenges.


We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher where you'll inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.


What You'll Do:

  • Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive setting as a homeroom teacher.
  • Conduct small group/ individual teaching sessions for students with learning difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individualized Learning Plan (ILPs) tailored to each student's specific needs, in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' performance, including IEP documentation.
  • Work closely with support staff, and other specialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a special education setting, preferably in a school environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties.
  • Extensive knowledge of various disabilities (e.g., ASD, GDD, CP, Down syndrome) and experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Proficiency in behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Able to start short notice or for the academic year 2025
